i5-12600k vs 5600x

Building new pc for myself. Which cpu should I take for my build? Price is same. Looked for benchmarks and both cpus have identical fps in csgo, in some games Intel have better fps. Or should I wait for new gen Ryzen cpus?

yeah, but one big misconception from OP is that the price will be the same. the price for the cpus are obviously the same, but motherboards of equivalent quality will be more expensive for the i5 chip, so thats another thing to consider (and you need a better cooler)
2021-11-25 20:21
i have 5600x really happy with it tho the stock cooler is kinda ass, temps get to like 75 sometimes (although they say its normal even up to 95 with stock cooler)

I will get Hyper Evo 212 so cooling is not problem.

too weak for a 12600k, just stick with a 5600x then
2021-11-25 20:21
change your thermal paste bruh, i have the 5600g and i uses the stock cooler, i get 65 maximum

i applied it myself couple months ago when i got it. there is no thermal throttling (according to amd, thermal throttling begins at 95+). my friend told me he had the same "problem" and the just got a better cooler and temps went down. in cs i get like 70 when i uncap fps and run all on low + 4:3 which is why i play on high graphics as to shift some of the load to the gpu.

i have 5600x and only get 60-65 max. but i only play csgo , idk

Idk how much you need the CPU upgrade rn, but if you could i would indeed wait for the new ryzen gen. I have a 5600X myself and havent had any issues whatsoever.

10600KF>5600X How da fak is that even a question? HOW DA FAK IS THAT EVEN A FUCKING QUESTION? Wait new overpriced not stock Ryzens? For what? For 2012 year game?

I just want to upgrade from my i5-4570. New Amd cpus looks good. I want to hear pros and cons. So I'll decide what cpu I should pick.

Pick 12600K if you can. Or 10600KF\11600KF I guess you don't know how to OC processor, so i would recommend you 11400F. Performance of 5600x (nearly) and price of Ryzen 3600 or even cheaper.
2021-11-25 20:32
i switched from i5-4570 to 5600x like a year ago,and all i can say is that 5600x is perfect
2021-11-25 20:56
It depends on how much more you'd have to spend to get the 12600k +motherboard over the 5600x. 12600k is superior no doubt but if you have to pay much more for it than it's not worth it.

Though question. Depends on your budget & expectations. finally intel got some good performance and tech to show but again it sips alot of power so their not as efficent and output more heat. in addition the p-core and e-core setup is the first generation so software optimization and useage is limited/WIP. edit: the intel chips have more performance in games BUT frametimes and lows are higher on ryzen which results in a smoother experience. you also should know that no matter your resolution you wont feel the difference in max/avg fps but in the lows and 0.1%s In General i recommend you to get the ryzen as the plattform is matured AF and you dont have to spend extra cash on overclocking features.

Ty for your post . I think I will wait for new gen Ryzen cpus. Maybe it will offer much better performance and current gen Ryzen cpus will drop prices.

12600k with ddr5 is kinda future proof while 5600x with ddr4 will become outdated next year

Ddr5 and supported mobos cost very much so I don't know if ddr5 worth now.

from what i've read ddr5 is not worth it rn, maybe early next year but to buy rn I would buy 12600k with a low cl ddr4 (like ddr4 3200mhz cl14/16) because of win11 but for the price maybe 5600x cuz motherboard is cheaper

Ryzen if you only want good CSGO performance, Intel in every other case
2021-11-25 20:51
motherboard z690 too expensive take 5600x or 5800x + 100$ b550 motherboard
2021-11-25 20:53
ofc intel but only if u buy good cooler(like noctua d15)
2021-11-25 20:54
intel
2021-11-25 20:55
the only thing intel cpu's are better at is lower latency afaik calyptos say dat

I have Ryzen 5 5600X and I don't regret switching to Ryzen, its great.
2021-11-25 20:56
in this economy buy intel if its cheaper but if the price is right buy the ryzen right now ryzens are just superior
2021-11-25 20:56
Ryzen 65W, Intel 125W. So the Intel one consumes more current, gets much hotter and needs a better cooler. So I'd get the Ryzen.
2021-11-25 20:59
for only game it's almost the same ( but for game with the cpu is in priority the AMD is better for csgo more fps with AMD ) for work the intel is better but you need to use w11 for have full use of the E-cores mortherboard are expensive you need to choice if you go for ddr5 or ddr4 so in the time you gonna need to change the Motherboard

Ryzen, they always support a wide range of mobos unlike Intel CPUs and also consumes less power
