when do u consider someone "older"?
 |
Denmark Ambush_EZ_WIN
so i just turned 20 recently and felt kinda sad that i'm already this age, as i felt like the time went fast during covid, and i'm still 18 ish. I think best years are now, but i wish to be back to 17-18, when i was still going to college and meeting people everyday... now its like only on weekends, since everyone got work or studies in day time :/

2021-11-29 10:43
thats the common term used here. i think you're legally a young adult once you turn 18
2021-11-29 23:17
Still a kid, 30+ is where adult life actually starts.

Mid 40's imo. I'm 30 now and it's literally only one difference than being in your 20's. You're just don't care as much about stupid shit

Kinda thru, Im almost 28 and with the age people are getting less fragile. Still somehow I feel like a kid, I guess it comes from that doesn't matter how much you know and learn about life, still you get that impression that you know nothing and you are just a dumb kid, because life has something new to surprise you. Or it's just me

I'm 21y right now, and I feel that pain everyday bro. Can't even explain why, because i'm healthy and I'm from middle class, i have a full time office work (accounting) receiving a little more than the minimum wage with 0 experience, happy family. I just feel sad everyday. Hope I can get back on track :(

i've just created that expression xD what i mean with that is: they are in university posting perfect pictures of parties, girls, outfits, views, and I'm 8h a day stuck inside an office. It's not like I don't enjoy what i'm doing professionaly, it's just the feeling of not being social present for what my age probably requires, idk, maybe I'm just paranoic, but I feel kinda depressed everyday about my life in general, even knowing that I have a pretty decent life for the average of the portuguese young community.

If it makes you feel better, my faculty (law) decided to do distanced learning from october onwards. My classmates from school in a different faculty are attending classes in person, partying, having fun etc. Others are travelling the world and shit. Meanwhile I'm sitting in front of my pc, reading and studying all day and not even the library is open every day. I seriously hope this profession is worth it.

It's kinda fucked up when you see everybody apparently happy and approaching life like it should be. but bro, there are a lot of moments when i also think that what I'm doing has a price, and I'm just getting this price in a couple of years, not everything is momentaneous. I hope you can understand me and keep your motivation high because I'm pretty sure you have a lot to give and show!

nah I get all that and I'm not terribly upset either. Just a thing that pisses me off whenever I let myself think about it haha.

Im 29 and I never felt better, started doing things I always wanted.. Gym, college, jobs.. Took me years to realise and get rid of all of my fears, now Im finally living... You may be younger but if your fears are stronger you ain't doing much better than the elderly who can't do a thing. Work on yourself so your actual life starts sooner and spans more than just your existence

20 year olds think teenagers are kids. 30 year olds think 20 year olds are kids 40 year olds think 30 year olds are adults but still annoyingly naive and idealistic 50 year olds I don't know because I've not reached that level
2021-11-29 16:40
You are still very young.. i remember when i turned 20 it was like yesterday , today im 26. I get this feeling everyday by thinking that im too old haha, i remember playing cs with my friends and browsing hltv like 10 years ago. After 20 life will skyrocket so fast, its crazy.

Completely depends on the context. I realise I'm "older" than most on HLTV?being 28 years old but I wouldn't consider myself an "older" person per se, 28 is still really young; though for a Counter-Strike player, I'm definitely on the "older" side of the spectrum.

older imo is a mental thing, because you can have 18 year olds who are super mature and act like theyre 32 and 32 year olds who are immature and act like theyre 18
2021-11-29 21:31
Age is mental, i am 24 and dont feel different from 16 except i am much smarter now (still dumb), but i am healthy maybe once i am 40 years old and fat with back pain i will think differently. Dont worry about your age, focus on your goals and dont let fear stop you from trying whatever you want to do, besides 20 is still a fucking kid

2021-11-29 22:05
I'm 20 and its not different from school time at all because I am studying and not planning to have family next 5 years at least. So nothing really changed for me

Average life expectancy of danish people is 79,5years. So compared to that you only just reached 25% of your life. Im 32years old and I still feel very young tho, even with 2 kids (1 and 3 yo). The older you get you shift your view on "older" people. With 20 I thought 32 is pretty old tho.

nono so i meet people during studies with my class for 3 years (from 15-18); now 2 years later, we all work since we either took a break (99%), of us did to not focus on studying but rather working and taking a break from school stuff. So people work from 8-18, and often dosent have timeto meet during the normal dayss

I noticed in myself I stopped caring about many things over the years that I used to worry about. I sometimes feel old I guess if my back misbehaves but overall I think under 40 is overall not old either way.
2021-11-30 10:52
I just turned 25 today and man... 20 is just like few months ago. For me, 'older' is when you can think wisely, don't worry about things that is not your bussines and something that is out of your control, those are something that can be obtained depends on your environtment and experience. I believe it's good to be mature in terms of mindset as fast as possible and I wish I have this kind of mindset when I'm still in highschool, or even in junior highschool, but it's better late than never. Edit: Also stop thinking that you can do everything, it's something childish and delusional
2021-11-30 11:17
When you realize you have such challenge, expectation and responsibility ahead of you
2021-11-30 16:53
Lol it's not your age that decides when you're an adult imo. You can be 25+ but if you still live at home and haven't worked a day in your life I'm still gonna view you as a kid. To me most important is life experience.
