G2 AleksiB, G2 M0nesy

1pv.fr/news/136170-g2-interested-in-alek.. Good move or not? I think aleksi could do well with more talented players than the ones he had in OG, while they're at it, i wonder if they're interested in replacing JACKZ or not.

Nah nexa >>>>>, especially considering the already massive team synergy problems Also g2 always have good calls, usually just don't get the necessary kills What g2 might need is to build a stable system like NaVi, Gambit etc have but that's also a job for the coach/his team and I don't think AleksiB has much experience in that either, he's a good IGL but stick with nexa, g2 always performed well when it mattered

Alkesib already proved he was a top IGL and played top-tier CS calling even in English-speaking lineups, while m0NESY as much as i think he is a future ZywOo / s1mple has never played against top-tier opposition and never played in an English speaking lineup. > Moreover 16, in a non-russian lineup, without top experience within a team with such personalities as NiKo, add that the huge pressure and you have the recipe for him to underperform, although i wish him all the best i'm still way more unsure than Alkesib.

The thing about Aleksib is that Im not sure if his style would fit G2. From listening to comms and hearing players talk about him it seems like he is very controlling and micro managing a lot. G2 has had success with the players themselves showing initiative and make good choices

I think the opposite, yes he is very micro-managing but not that much with the second caller ( NiKo ) that will have more freedom than the others, i actually think NiKo should be the only one to have options in this roster the others need to stfu and listen imo.

G2 is a top3 team without an AWPer. Just replace Jackz with monesy and your gucci. Nexa is a good IGL and has good synergy with hunter and NiKo

If you replace jackz with monesy you lose your entry fragger and the person creating space for the rest of the team. Monesy will probably also need space. At best you replace amenek and put nexa as support and igl.

But the game style is very close to Nexa's
2021-11-30 17:15
AleksiB and Tabsen are the two best IGLs right now, but Tabsen would never leave BIG. AleksiB is actually on a very mediocre team that only does well because of his leadership, so he might be willing to switch. His IGL approach is practically opposite to Nexa though, so I hope they could act very adaptably with the possibility of swapping between the two against certain opponents. And we also don't know how NiKo performs under very strict leadership like AleksiB's, since he's never had an IGL like that. Regarding the coach, obviously Kassad is the best one available, but it remains to be seen if he can work with AleksiB. M0nesy seems like the even more risky pickup, because he's completely unproven in the high tier, but it worked for Vitality when picking up ZywOo in the same way, and CarlosR is definitely a betting man. Seems like a good combination of insane skill, motivation/hard work, supporting elements, and strict leadership. I would be very curious to see what a G2 like that could do. It certainly has the potential to be a strong and consistent second place, but I'm not sure about surpassing Na'Vi. If it works out I could see next year being a four-way rivalry between Na'Vi (S1mple + B1t/Electronic), G2 (M0nesy + NiKo/Hunter), Vitality (ZywOo + Magisk/Dupreeh), and Gambit (Sh1ro + Hobbit/Ax1le), each with their star AWPer and strong backup riflers. Though to be fair, Gambit will probably fall off, especially if LAN is coming back.

I think G2 is the perfect team for m0nesy to cut his teeth on T1 with. He is better than AmaNEk on the AWP, so there’s an instant team upgrade. The team itself has shown it can do well without a good AWP, so that would be less pressure on m0nesy, which is what will make or break his progression.

I'm not sure about that man. He has 3 young players that have Tier 1 potential, we've seen them shine on other teams before, sure they maybe weren't star players but they were far better than on OG. And he has valde as a smart and experienced help outside of the server, I see no upgrade potential of him coming to G2 at all

TLDR for everybody G2 interested in AleksiB. It would be a great progression, but the site is still unsure about how much G2 are willing to pay. G2 is, contrary to other sites and leakers, the only team pursuing m0NESY, and though negotiations are being done, it's still not a guarantee that M0nesy would come. Emi has a buyout, and a high buyout for what G2 was expecting. They aren't interested in getting him anymore

Exactly what G2 needed: -a real IGL (nexa was forced into the role, does not like it much and is not great at it either) -a talented pure AWPer with a high ceiling (everybody agreed that Amanek is not good enough for the role at this level) Aleksib is widely considered in Tier 1 as one of the best IGLs. M0nesy is widely considered as a mini s1mple, a superstar in the making. Add to that the Kovac cousins and an unleashed nexa, you got yourself some crazy potential with lots of brains and firepower.

Disbanding or benching does not mean you are a free agent. The team still honors your contract. Plus on Tier 1 I'm sure a lot if not most players have "benching" clause where the org pays a certain pct% of their salaries.

I guess they place the pricetag based on how much they value their asset, the salary they are paying him, and how much money they want to make. I agree that it sounds like they are asking too much for something not that valuable, but hey they can ask whatever they want doesn't mean someone will bite! Maybe G2 roll their eyes and walk away, and then FPX lower their pretensions. There is a saying in Spanish that goes along the lines of "to the vice of asking, there is the virtue of not giving". 😁

2021-11-30 19:26
if they get Aleksi they wont need Jackz because he normally plays for entries. It just depends where they see Nexa fitting in, he will have to be more support/2nd caller. I think Amanek and Jackz will be the ones to go if it does happen
2021-11-30 19:26
It’s good move, the only concern of mine is Niko denying AleksiB back in the faze days. Grabbing awp is win anyway, AleksiB is a gamble. But you have to take risk in order to achieve much.
2021-11-30 20:45
AleksiB is decent, hasn't really got a chance to lead a really good team since ENCE and even they were kinda overrated at the time imo. Definitely an upgrade to nexa calling wise but my question is would they keep nexa as support to appease the kovacs?
