Want to buy new PC

Hi guys! Is this a good computer for gaming? Do you think 1580 euros is a fair price for it? What games do you recommend that I should try out if I buy it? Also, what monitor is good for this? AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8GHz (16MB Cache, up to 4.7GHz), 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM (2x8GB, I assume no name brand), 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 with LHR graphics card, 1000Mbps RJ45 (1 x), Wi-Fi 802.11 ax • Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI (2db), DisplayPort(3db), USB3.0(5x), USB3.1(2x), USB-C 3.0(1x)

You should get a 1080ti over a 3070 Would save you about 500$ for similair performance

The real problem is finding actual GPUs that are serviceable now, scalpers and desperate gamers have snapped up anything with 4 or more gigs of VRAM like fries by deranged seagulls that someone starved for a week then tossed into a McDonalds.
2021-11-30 23:15
I'd put similar in quotation marks here, the cca 30% difference (depending on the resolution) can sometimes be the difference between playable and unplayable, but the 1080ti is still a beast of a card

they are hoarding all the GPUs in a stock to reduce the amount. which results in higher prices. i dont believe in this subject with miners

Thanks for the feedback! It was the best I found on a slight discount, still hugely overpriced but the best of a tough scenario I guess.

I have something called Zotac 650 Ti Boost. I bought it in 2013. :D Safe to say it's not good enough by today's standards, am I right?

yeah, that's a bit too ancient. 1080, 1080 TI would be pretty decent for 1080p games for sure. miners really did fuck up the gpu prices sadly.
2021-11-30 05:03
Did you see used gpus prices? They cost almost same as new gpus.

-5800x +5600x -3070 +3080 if you're going for 1080p then just switch from 5800x to 5600x 'cause 5800 is overkill, since it's over 100 euros more expensive, unless you're doing more with your pc than just gaming. Even for 1440p 5600x is fine but instead of 3070, 3080 is just so much better for the future.

3080 costs ~50% more than an already super pricey 3070. :( What makes it so much better? Does it perform a million times better?

50% price increase and you think it'll be a million times better? bruh. You can probably expect 35% more performance out of the 3080 but it'll also last 3 times as long since it has both more memory and faster speeds, saving you money in the long run so take from that what you will. Also like I said, if you're going for 1080p then obviously don't get the 3080, but then on top of that why would you need a 5800x considering how much more expensive it is compared to the cheaper 5600x. my suggestions are for a long term builds, and you can even choose to change resolutions without upgrading your PC (again). of course, make your own decisions, but this is personally what I did and I seriously don't see my self upgrading for a while now.

DON'T buy it. Build it instead because it will be much cheaper. You will save hundreds of dollars. Search up YouTube on how to build.

But the price of the gpu and cpu separately already makes up the 1800 euros... how could I possibly build it cheaper?
2021-11-30 16:12

Then something is likely very wrong. If the individual parts cost more than the pre-built pc then one of two things must happen. 1. The parts you are looking at is mispriced and is there to take advantage of you 2. The pc likely is second-hand or is not what you might expect. There could definitely be some issues.
2021-11-30 16:47

Not necessarily since the miners screwed things up and the prices skyrocketed I have seen a lot of vendors selling just the card at stupid price but if you buy the entire pc from them they sell it for a decent price than they normally would. They don't make a big profit by selling the whole pc but their stuff is getting sold instead of sitting in the warehouse.

Bump the ram to 32gb and you gonna need more memory than 512gb get some cheap HDD for games that dont have large load times and shieeet. Aside from that, enjoy ur PC :)

Hello menss you have a very good pc right there, more than enought to play cs for 10 years more than enough to play other games more than enough to work It will last you yearsssss Something you can do is upgrade the RAM to other 16gb of a good brand, but it's not necessary, just if you want. Hope you like your new Beast PC!

Drop the AMD cpu, get the i5-12600K instead. 1. You get better fps, its just a better cpu overall and 2. its even cheaper. Intel has been kind of killing off ryzen lately. Also drop the 3070 and get the 3060ti instead, there's barely any fps difference but a huge price difference. Make sure you get either the MSI or Gigabyte brand. Best piece of advice: Wait at least another year till the gpu prices drop, they're just insane right now and they're expected to be 30% more cheap in like less than a year. Up to you ofcourse.

Thanks for your suggestion. 12600K indeed seems a better fit for general gaming. Unfortunately I found out this is a set configuration and I can't really make big modifications otherwise I will risk losing the warranty on it. :(

Actually I can make changes but I cannot sell the components if I want to use the warranty then I have to return the computer in it's original setup and if I damaged the computer during replacing a component I would lose warranty too of course.

Yeah it's hard to tell with gpus really. I know that at the moment AMD said they will have to slightly further increase their prices and also that the Hungarian currency is getting worse compared to EUR/USD so I expect further price increase in the short term for sure. Maybe in a year's time they will decrease by 30% though.

All up to you m8. I would definitely do what I said tho, saves you money + you basically lose nothing. Unless the ryze and 3700 are cheaper in your country of course, then its a whole different story.

great price although i have temp issues with my 5800x wouldn't recommend that particilar cpu either 5600x or 5900x

like the others already said considering the price of pc parts right now this is a pretty nice deal
2021-11-30 22:12
where are you getting the 3070? 3060s are going for 1k+ rn, simply not worth to build complete pc atm. Maybe everything but gpu.. but then again if u want latest n greatest, same story with ddr5 platform. Overpriced af. 2k pc now = $500 pc 3 years ago lol

I recommend 24gb ram unless you plan on only playing CS and similar low requirement games, if you want to have 2nd monitor to watch twitch while playing for example 16gb will give you problems. Also for certain games (CS, Rust, Minecraft, valorant and a few others) it would be worth to get a cheaper gpu in favor of a more powerful cpu. Otherwise looks solid.
