CS has become so competitive

Imagine vitality being #2 and still making roster changes. G2 placing second at the major and still wanting to make roster moves. Instead of practising and waiting for results, orgs are making immediate changes as a sponsorship requirement. Is it good or bad for the upcoming players or the scene in general?

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
what are you talking about? G2 and Vitality both had bad results overall all year long so it's logic that after a big defeat they decided to make roster change...

also anyway teams weren't making roster change before the major bc of valve rules, so it's the reason why so many teams rn are doing it.

I understand the Valve thingy plus the fact that post major changes are bound to happen, but the current roster changes are the most in the history of the CS

dont forget 2018/2019 Astralis when they clapped your homies 7 times or so in finals and no one else was doing anything besides Liquid and Astralis. and its not the least competitive, theres G2, Heroic, Gambit, even this new Astralis who might be challenging NaVi in the future. kinda skeptical on the future of Vitality tho
2021-11-30 07:47
Least competitive era is Astralis era all other teams were bad

Lmao. More likely one of the most competitive eras and at the same time an era when one team was just really good ahead of their time creating new metas. Right now theres no other top team that actually even has a lineup they're planning to keep. Navi is literally the only one. They are not doing anything special right now, other teams just going through phases and you'll see that in 2022 how navi wont be anything special.

first part of the comment yes, regarding 2nd part the thing is everyone had their lineups during Astralis era and no one could do a thing + Heroic and Gambit are keeping their lineups I believe, out of all teams who can challenge NaVi will or already going through lineup changes are Astralis, G2 and Vitality, can put NIP here, but I think they still have loads of work to do. so in case of being a threat theres definitely more teams that might be dangerous to NaVi than there were for Astralis, meaning this era is more competitive

Yeah in that sense its gonna be very competitive soon because I believe there will be multiple teams that can win tournaments. But I kinda looked at it differently in a sense that how "good" the scene is. During astralis era the level of play took a leap forward and its not really happening right now. But imo we are getting closer to it again after shuffles and bit of time.

it took a leap forward, because Astralis were farming them with their incredible strats, gamesense and utility usage, no one knew how to counter that, so teams had to look into their gameplay and start adapting it, which is why we see CS being like it is these days. NaVi for me looks like a combo of 2 eras: SK + Astralis, they have combined incredible firepower that once SK was and tactically they know how to play the game well, maybe not to the level of Astralis of those days, but its definitely above anyone else. teams kinda know their nades these days way better than back then, its just the firepower that makes bigger difference from a majority of the teams. I also cant wait until everything can settle down a bit in this world so we can see where the scene goes

Tell me a 2018 team except Astralis that 2021 Na Vi wouldnt stomp?

They would win every single 2018 team, obviously. Do you even understand why?

When teams are into era’s the remaining teams are irrelevant cus they are not strong enough to compete and i believe 2021 teams are stronger such as Heroic Gambit etc.

Its because scene/players getting better all the time. 2021 s1mple > 2018 s1mple etc. Astralis was really dominant at a time when there were multiple established stable top tier teams around including navi. Navi started being dominant'ish at a time when they are quite literally the only top tier team that is not doing major changes in their lineup. I dont expect navi to have an era in 2022 at all, the available information dont support that idea.

You do realise many of these roster changes happen because they couldn't beat NaVi with what they had? They weren't "dead rosters" at the start of the year or middle of the year. And most of them became "dead" just after the major. Just like they always do, there's literally roster shuffle after each major.

It just means that NaVi is the only tier 1 team and others are light years behind them stuck in tier 2

Dafuq is this definition? There is one team that outshines every other team in the world 2021-> „oNlY t1 tEaM LUL, rEsT DiSbAnD KeKW“. You could rather say Navi is S+ tier while we got 3 S teams (Heroic, G2, Gambit) and some A+ (Rest of top10), then comes Tier2. Stuck in tier2… how can second, third and so on be „tier2“?

because there is smaller skill gap between big or mouz and g2 or gambit than g2/gambit and navi

It's good obviously means less washed up old players being on a team because they have connections or because the fans like them.

I think Vitality and G2 are very particular cases. G2 is trying to win and become the best, and loosing so many finals and semis is not acceptable. Vitality is in the same boat, but a bit behind. They know they have a damn good core with potential, but they need to renew some players, as they know that placing in BLAST won't be repeatable
2021-11-30 08:08
Its as competive as any era, one team beating every other left and right.

Online era basically push team to lock and do minimum changes and dont forget that major already postponed once, not to mention the rmr point as well
