I've recently been trying to fix my sleep schedule, and have come to the conclusion that this is impossible while looking at a screen every night before I go to bed, therefore I've decided to buy some books to read instead. So, I was wondering if anyone on this fantastic site has some recommendations for books? Or alternatively, other sources of information/entertainment, that do not include looking at a screen.

What kind of book? Entertainment? Self improvement?

For entertainment such as mystery novel i recommend Sherlock Holmes, quite good honestly, but if you want self improvement try learning some stock or software related

They are INSANE, I can tell you that, tho all of them are 1000+ pages so some people are turned off by that

Someone is in for a treat :) Those 1000+ pages go by so fast, especially because every chapter is a good length, not too long, not too short, they got the editing right perfectly.

Do you believe in God? If the answer is yes, try Kaerlighedens Gerninger by Kierkegaard which is also Danish and you probably know him. If you don't like that kind of things you should try one hundred years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez it's a great story.

just go on goodreads and find recommendations based on the books you like or just find some popular lists that look interesting and start from there. ironically it's kinda hard to recommend something when you're open for everything lol.

Yeah I understand, I just find it hard to find any tips or recommendations on the internet, because just like you said, it's hard to find something specific when you're open to everything.

1984, brave new world, animal farm, 10 days that shook the world, the gulag archipelago, "le viol des foules par la propagande politique" (S. Tchakhotine), Man's search for meaning worth reading all these, maybe you'll remark upon some similarities concerning the direction the world is going heading in.

The first book is golden. The sequels are not that great, but ok. You should read the book before watching the movie.

GoT already mentioned, but mostly almost every single movie is better as a book. The only exception I have personally come across was Fight Club, but that movie was really, really good, so it would have been difficult to surpass it. Love Philip K. Dick and his sci-fi. Questions regarding truth and reality, humanity and the cosmos weaved in with non-subtle social critiques. The way this guy makes the hairs in my neck stand up with mere words and sentences, simply amazing. Other recommendations: Torey Hayden, Irvine Welsh
