It's bad and that my opinion, 1 major per year is better, because major = hard, and dont make it look easy.

Also make chance more big for another player too, like kariggan, rain, guardian maybe, etc. But that the thread point, dont make it too much

yeah, Im a big fan of his but its not looking good for him. When he got benched in NaVi, he just started playing with his friends on stream and was not gridning his way back. Dont know if he rejected some offers or something, but the team he is in right now is nowhere near tier2. Maybe if he had like 1.30 rating in that tier it would be promising but he is average there so that is the end of guardian sadly
2021-12-04 14:16
It's not upto him per say. He's like 30 now and not many orgs take that gamble. Especially considering how he flopped hard in Na'vi.

+1 but it think there gonna try do alot of majors in 2022 like just 2 majors to say sorry for all the lockdown business no major and no lan for a whole year in 2020 and it was ok in 2021
2021-12-04 13:36
Then new teams will never be even close to breaking Astralis record so its unfair. ( I am speaking from Navi fan perspective, they would fucking get 2 majors this year but virus destroyed everything.) I am sorry if I was toxic, I am bad at keeping my temper cool.

I wouldn't say a lot of them. Even the "fluke" major winning teams have players that are legends overall (JW, flusha, pronax, Zeus, stew).

2 Majors is good, just means you will get 2 stacked events instead of some teams playing one event and some playing another

Two a year still spaces them out a bit, so they have definitely gotten better at Major management over the years they tested the formula out. 2014 and 2015 had three in each year but that was because they were still relatively new tournaments at the game, to establish a new standardisation for TO's at the time. After 2015, Majors were cut down to two a year and then after the Starladder Berlin Major in 2019, we didn't have a single Major until PGL Stockholm 2021... Fingers crossed they will go back to two a year in 2022, otherwise it may very well be one a year - I am happy with either, though I think three a year didn't respect how prestigious the Majors were.

You don't understand. Major isn't supposed to be biggest event in CSGO but it is because we haven't got The International for CSGO. Dota has major too, 2 major per year and The International.

What is the difference from majors and the International? I don't play Dota, so I don't know.

It's crowd funded event and directly hosted by Valve with PGL but PGL never get mentioned. Majors are hosted by ESL/PGL/Eleague. Valve don't play big part in majors. Also since The International is crowd funded the prize pool is massive. This year it was 40 Million $. Winner got 18 mil which is actually 17x more then what CSGO player get to win major. Same as CSGO, Dota also has 2 majors per year. We can definitely hope valve to introduce The International for CSGO. It will give the scene huge boost. In short the biggest difference is prize pool Majors : 2 Million, The International : 40 Million.

I think 2 majors in a year is fine, but I can see how having only one could make that event a lot more important. I wouldn't mind if they changed tbh.

2021-12-08 05:37
If valve go towards 1 major a year surely they start crowd funding for prize pools on top of the already 2 mil prize pool
2021-12-08 05:39

Gotta stop the major altogether to stop s1mple becoming s2mple
2021-12-08 06:27
1 per year makes it prestigious and meaningful. so many big tourneys have a similar prizepool nowadays that it really didnt feel speical anymore watching majors. especially with crappy productions.

2 major and 1 "the global offensive" (like the international) with 25% of OPERATION PASS (like The International) HYPE FOR CSGO

I completelly agree. And I think that doing it once a year gives more hype and make it already more special. Like, we all loved the PGL Stockholm while it was happening because we misssed the majors but when we saw the Blast Fall Finals we understood that the major wasn't that great, in fact it was kinda shit in terms of organization. So the point is, more time between majors, more hype; less time, less hype. And 1 per year would be perfect in my opinion.
