Yes you do but I'mma be completely honest with you mate, you probably made this post thinking you were the shit and about to impress everyone but you really don't make that much. I donate over 50% of my income and yet after that and all my expenses (mortgage, 2 kids, frequent vacations, and everything else) I get about the same money you listed as your whole net salary. You find my bragging unnecessary, don't you? That's exactly my point.

Technical support analyst for an American software company. I was going for a programming job, got an offer but was low-balled. I work night hours, 40 hours a week and get 2 days off every week. I work from home but can make a way to the offices whenever I want to. I enjoy the social aspect of the job but still haven't got used to it because not long ago I had really bad anxiety. Nothing. Vienna is basically heaven on Earth. I guess at some point of our lives we want to decide where we want to settle, and commit to it. I've lived abroad for years now, and while it had been a fantastic experience, I don't think I want to spend my life as an immigrant in a foreign country.

No, one of the other "big" cities. Anyway I work remotely, same as most of the people in our field rn. So you can live in any city you want here. It's good, you can definitely save more compared to most EU countries. The salary is maybe slightly higher there, but the expenses aren't even comparable. So it's not worth to move even with like x2 salary in my opinion (at least money-wise)

trueeee, blender was so unintuitive last time I tried, only thing that sucks is autodesk pricing though D:
2021-12-06 17:46
do you do purely keyframe or also mocap anims btw?
2021-12-06 17:48
1 reply
Keyframe, when it's mocap others coworkers does the job usually. About blender, the problem is that's hard to work a whole team on the same thing without coding a lot of stuff. If you're a one man band it's a nice soft, but if you need a solid pipeline it's a pain in the ass, even for blender institute, I talked with a couple of the guys doing the shorts and they told me they do a lot of things by brute force. In the future it will be great, but it's still not there. About Autodesk prices, the company you work is the one providing license, so no problem at all, if you need to learn, just use jack sparrow license and have fun.

i don't know exactly, but i suppose that is around R$3000~4000 (U$528~700), if you consider in dolar is very low, but it's not that bad earning R$4000 in Brazil being young, single and not having children. Anyways I pretend to move to Europe in 3 or 4 years, since I'll get Italian citizenship and then I expect to earn around €4~5K

I work at the port in "Cargo Operations", which does not explain a lot. Simply put we manage traffic (passenger + cargo), loading and unloading the ships together with the crew. We are under constant pressure as the turn-around times are very short. In fact we have the fastest turnarounds per lane meter in the world. But it's fun and every day is different. Oh, that's just my part-time job (70h-150h/4 weeks) while studying electrical and automation engineering.

I plan and run political campaigns for major companies and help CEO's break through in the media. My background is a mix of business administration and corporate communications. I make just about $7.500 a month and work anywhere from 25-60 hours a week. No one else working for major coorporations or doing politics?

I paid 0 for college = it's free. Every country has taxes, not really a good argument. Ours just are a bit higher than in most countries.

I was talking about taxes because you brought them up. I don't pay anything, I get student aid out of which a small portion is tax. A student loan also has an interest rate close to zero + if you graduate on time, 40% of it will be paid by the government.

IT Sysadmin, 2 man team for 3 small companies(less than 150 employees) and 7 nationwide branches. 8-5 shop no OT no on call unless its an emergency and those are rare. Roughly $2400/mo. Could be making more elsewhere but this company is locally owned by a republican and pretty much all locations are in my hometown within 15 minutes of my house(24yr old homeowner btw, pretty proud of this and no silver spoon either). I enjoy working in IT, could make more elsewhere but I'm just going to fulfill my job role here until I get let go or get a golden opportunity to work devops remote.
