Gambit's real issue

Let's leave onliners vs LAN discussion. They look very unconvincing and I don't think LAN is the main issue. They crushed out of T3 tournament just before major and it was online. They have won V4 but they struggled a lot there. Obviously a lot of their stats and patterns were figured out and copied. They still have very good executions and strata but looks like they lack firepower. Ax1Le has not have MVP form for a while. Hobbit is solid but having quiet days. Sh1ro struggles against elite but still T1 awper. What can they do to improve? So far they look like solid top5-10 team but not more.

They were losing online tournaments before major including ones where they should have crushed everyone.

Ax1le has been in a slump but I also think more T1 has learned to antistrat them and make it competitive

oh damn. I haven't had much time to watch but I'm glad to see that. When he's on form he's one of my favorite players to watch

Yeah unfortunately gambits players are taking turns on whos not going to show up, still they have 3 insane fraggers so they will make play offs regardless but they need to change up something in the tactical department if they wanna win again
2021-12-06 06:02
which is concerning because i think when ax1le performed well in the last months, gambit seemed to be unstoppable.

i don't have an opinion since i don't watch their games.

Don't be hurry, they've only played 4-5 lan tournaments , they have skill , they are young , they worked harder than last time : won faze clan , didn't lose much against vitality . Let give them more time

Every pro that was asked about Gambit is giving them a lot of credit and Karrigan said that they can have another gear in performance. They practice probably more than anyone else, have same core for a long time but looks like they are over their peak. True, they made it competitive against good teams.
2021-12-06 04:45
honestly i think sh1ro just needs a bit more experience (yes i know he's had quite a bit so far but he needs a bit more). ax1le is good but seems to get impatient and play rash (just from what I've seen). hobbit is a legend but has been missing some days, like you said. hes always been quite consistent so hopefully he rebounds. honestly i think they just need some more time in the oven. oh and maybe they should change their strats a bit, they seem to be getting read a lot more. just my 97 cents
2021-12-06 04:39
I think the problem is pressure When they were just gambit youngsters or just coming into t1 cs, they had no expectations and were just allowed to play This also allowed them to climb very quickly since no one was antistratting them or watching their games and figuring out how they played However, after becoming #1 for a while, they started to fall off because other teams did those aforementioned things, plus NAVI got so good Then they started having expectations; going from nobodies who are #1 and no one expects anything to being a favorite in most events while also being new to LAN and tier 1 cs All this, plus hobbit saying "everyone talking about how NAVI is going to win this major, but things don't always work out that way" and then losing 16-1 must be devasting TLDR - Pressure got to Gambit because of expectations, inexperience, being crushed by NAVI at the major, and actually getting antistratted by other teams

You might be right. Their CEO/coach seems reasonable and they always trying to lower expectations and present themselves as underdogs. Probably easier said than done. Maybe everyone (including myself) needs time to get used to them being solid top10 team and not top1 anymore.

Very good points, nicely written.

Gambits have obvious problems, but drawing conclusions from close game, where everything was decided in the last 2 additional rounds is too much. Vitality could have lost

I was not talking about Vitality game. They did better against them (though so did Mouz). It is been clear they struggle a lot lately. And not just against T1 just look at their V4 showing.

I think they've likely capped in terms of team potential at the moment, though they could resurge. I'm not sure of any players on the CIS market at the moment.

There are tons of good players on CIS market. I am not sure who can they add to improve especially since core's been together for a long time. Tbh I have no clue how good interz for his position.

2021-12-06 04:54
+1 it's really simple, they're just overrated online bots who fluked their way into t1
2021-12-07 02:54
Ax1le is not as good as before
2021-12-06 05:03
This is not an online vs LAN discussion like you said. They almost got 2-0'd by Faze and fnatic, but they won in 2nd map's overtime and then won the series in both matches. And then against Vitality, they came back from 11-4 in the last map and almost won the series. If a few rounds went differently then they could have been in the semis rn. They obviously have a strong mentality and they don't seem to give up, or get pressured on LAN. Obviously they are not a top1 team anymore like they used to be in early 2021, but they are still a solid top5 team even on LAN. They're going in the right direction and I think they might win a LAN someday with more experience.

Everything you said makes sense to me. It's a bit hard to accept that the team that was so dominant for a while, with same roster, young with no washed up players training hard and just don't show the same results.
2021-12-07 11:27
sh1ro struggles? he's been hard carrying. ax1le and h0bbit being shit is their only problem.

Sh1ro is very good, he has been carrying team often lately but maximum he can carry them to by himself is V4 level championship. He is not at S1mple, Zywoo or NiKo level, at least yet.
2021-12-07 11:22
nafany calls are the main problem tbh he struggles a lot recently

He does have questionable calls sometimes. But everyone is studying Gambit very well now so I guess he had to come up with some risky calls to mix up things. I will give him some slack - he is young and it is hard to be IGL in general. He frags quite well too.

they need to take some time off the game if anything these kids live in the bootcamp facility for a 1.5 years now, they need to reset and recalibrate, get used to their current status. also understanding that teams like Navi and Astralis didn't become dominant in a day is the key, it was a long ass road filled with chokes, unlucky tournaments, etc
2021-12-07 11:39
Anti stratted
2021-12-07 11:39
The biggest mistake Gambit could make is changing how they play. The game with Vitality was 100% 50-50, and on another day Gambit win and move on and no doubt ever creeps in. ofc CSGO has an unlimited skill ceiling, so they cannot just NOT change anything ever, you are basically always evolving in this game. It is VERY EASY to change for the worse, but VERY HARD to change for the better, when you are already at the top or near it. You can't look at results alone. You could do everything absolutely right in a game and still end up losing. Check the process, and if the process still is sound and solid, there is no worry: the results will come to you.
2021-12-07 11:51
Their real problem is not having me in the roster. Add me and ez top-10 guaranteed 😎
2021-12-07 11:54
Honestly, They are quite ez to read now but this could be fixed with better coach and some analitics and the other thing is, some of the players get tilted really easy and this is the bigger problem because this thing makes entire team play worse.
