why tf u say olof is a support, see the statistics of flashbang thrown, olof is way down the list after broky, karrigan, twistzz. Olof is a lurker ropz is a lurker, so it totally makes sense to -olof +ropz hltv.org/stats/players/flashbangs?startD..

But yeah olof has (or had) a pretty unique style that u could only describe as lurky, even when he was awping.

pls define support player

I'm not arguing that he is a full time support player, I'm just saying that flashbang stats are a shit metric to define a dedicated support role.

u are right olof is lurker (and support dependent on the round, probably) this is because the other riflers are definitely not lurkers: karrigan is entry, twistzz is hard rifler, rain is hard rifler (and maybe support). ropz for olof is not even a question. though if olof does play the support role more than anyone else, maybe -rain is solution

i havent seen olof doing any support on t sides tbh, he just camps upper tunnels in d2 t side whole time, camps aparts in inferno t sides, idk what he does in mirage but yeah he is definitely not a support

wouldve called it 'lurks' if he was a little bit aggressive sometimes to apply pressure on other side of the map

He is lurking. He is collecting info, controlling a part of the map on his own and communicates his info to karrigan. On top of that he is one of the easiest players to play with and understand. His communication and understanding of the game is exceptional, im sure him and faze know better if what he is doing is good or not than any of us. I have to agree though that olof hasnt been providing big firepower lately. However i think he still has a place in t1 cs, he just needs a team with more firepower than faze. And dont tell me faze has sick firepower....

i agree with what you have said, faze lacks firepower and thats why olof has to go

but I also think olof is not the problem. He is not supposed to get the frags. Its just rains and karrigans inconsistency combined with fazes style imo that are more problematic. On top of that they are lacking a real star player. Twistzz and broky are great but they are lacking that star level playmaker. Rain can be it once every week, thats not enough. Twistzz is really good but imo he would be better used as a role player where he can really shine in his role like in GS winning liquid. Broky isnt that star playmaker either. He is good in clutches and a good awper but it looks like its not enough. Sure ropz can be an upgrade but its not even sure faze will be better since apperanlty olof is very important to make everyone feel comfortable, he just does whatever is needed to improve the team. Whereas ropz wants and should be more of a star player, not a bitch for the team.... And then u need another guy doing olofs job, who on faze would do that better than olof?
2021-12-09 11:37
bruh support isnt throwing flashes, thats a part of it but usually support throws smokes and mollies and keeps flanks under controll during execs. it depends alot on the team what a support player does. in vp sanji was the ultimate support by being their bank account and bitch but in astralis xyp had his own positions and helped out by rotating and keeping the site clear on ct-side. on navi perfecto is usually the one throwing smokes and mollies and after holding lurks

yeah but there are no stats recorded on hltv for support players other than flashes thrown

Yeah cause the game‘s system only counts flashes as a assist so
2021-12-09 10:33
Ropz makes so much sense, considering Olof's roles. But tbh, I don't think Faze is winning anything soon either, with or without Ropz. But let's see. There's a lot of variables.

yeah, i think olof adds a lot of value in ct side by being a sort of secondary caller and post plant plays from what i have seen in the comms, taking him out would be a disadvantage in this regard but faze defo needs firepower so yeah u r right lot of variables
2021-12-09 10:32
Would be great to see Ropz if Olof doesn't want to play anymore. Now would be the time as well to get some practice in before break is over.

be honest, how old are you and when did you start watching competetive cs?
2021-12-09 11:06
The fact that Faze just has Olof on retainer is a perfect example of how they don't really seem to care about their cs team, they should be trying to get the five best players they can get but they seem to just be trying to keep the fans by dangling washed up players in front of them like "hey you liked this guy well he's still with us buy our merch"
2021-12-09 11:41
I have a friend who's always flashing monster every round on overpass, he ends every game with close to 50 enemies flashed and he's always bragging about it... people really need to learn the difference between trully useful game changing flashes and the ones you throw at the beginning of the round because it just makes sense to do so And no, being a support player isn't only about flashes, if you want some more insight you can also listen to the coms and what the players actually say about him
