their winnings got inflated by the 2m major. Navi won 7 events this year when Astralis won 10 in 2018

Let's count percentage of big events won by teams. I think that in 2018 were much more events than this year
2021-12-09 10:09
Astralis played 19 events in 2018, Navi 14 in 2021 That compensate the bigger prizepool at the major I would say Edit: also navi won 9, not 7 - you didnt count blast groups I guess?

Blast Groups are literally only qualifiers, you literally win 3 BO3 and you are 1st?

But its part of the whole blast circuit

its not a proper tournament when you're only competing with 4 other teams

+1 Although Navi's event winrate is significantly higher than Astralis' winrate, we need to consider the overall situation. Astralis played more tournaments, and thus have a higher sample size, in addition to the scene being a little more competitive than today.

4 majors > 1 major Not saying that Navi can't be better than Astralis, but it is way too early to start making that comparison. Prize money goes up with time.

There was only 1 major won by Astralis in 2018. The overall careers of both teams aren't being compared here, since Astralis is in a league of it's own.

People say that prime Astralis would shit on current Navi and its not even close This is one of statistics that at least make it debatable that this navi is comparable to prime astralis

This statistic is not a good argument for obvious reasons. Na'Vi isn't comparable to prime Astralis as of yet. Astralis was objectively more dominant and won a lot more for a LOT longer. I do disagree though with the sentiment that prime Astralis would "shit on" current Na'Vi and that it's "not even close".

Maybe I am delusional but this Navi roster is individualy better than prime Astralis and teamwise? Hard to say if other teams are shit now or Navi are too good but overall navi are now on the best path to become better than astralis (all time terms)

Prime Astralis vs prime NaVi would probably be the best match in history

Prime Astralis (April 2018-March 2019): 12 S-tier events (16, if we don’t count 5 month break in between 2019 April-September) Navi now: 6 S-tier events Not even close
