The ban for the tons of Australian and Kiwi players who were accused of betting, has also been a terrible blow for an already dying OCE scene. Valve unbanned IBP and so many others for match-fixing. Hopefully, ESIC can give a second chance. There's many here who'd like to play professionally.

yeah lol wasn't even betting against themselves meanwhile carson can be in a teamspeak conspiring to fix and get no ban pretty much sussy

Exactly mate. If I have a match scheduled against a strong opponent, and I see that I have 10 to 1 odds, it's not wrong for me to bet that I will win. It'd be wrong to bet on losing. This shouldn't have been a cause for such a ban. Meanwhile, for NA and EU cases, ESIC just rolls their eyes. OCE and Asian scenes do have it hard lol.

it was easy for them to catch the aus guys because they essentially all used ESIC partnered betting sites + your country actually has laws against it its borderline impossible for them to get proof on the NA players because theyre using unregulated crypto sites/asian sites that aren't and wont cooperate with ESIC + theres no actual laws against it dont even get me started on the bulgarians

True, I understand that. All sorts of betting on your own matches are usually illegal. It just felt like a logically weird thing. If anything, the weak team would've had even higher motivation to win, if they bet on it xD Rest of it, I agree as well.

what i dont understand is why people like u care about whether or not the NA players get banned 99% of the ppl involved quit cs 1.5+ years ago, theres like maybe 3 active players out of the whole NA scene that still plays CS that did any matchfixing, the rest are either getting paid appropriately and not matchfixing in valorant or quit esic suddenly issuing 40 bans tomorrow won't change the scene one bit so im not sure exactly why it matters that much?

E-sports is a joke. Even footbal has fraud in its biggest scene what do you expect from a joke of an industry.
