The game was just not suitable as an online cardgame. it felt like solving math equations instead of playing a game. You could not chill and play it on autopilot like you can with magic and hearthstone because you would get obliterated. Personally I had fun playing an artifact match or two from time to time but if I ever played a whole draft I was usually mentally exhausted afterwards. Imo the monetization wasn't even to blame, it was mainly on the game itself. Edit: The game feels more like it should have been a boardgame where you play one match with your buddy and then be done for the day.
