man sitting down and listening to 'the cold sun' all in one go is such a good experience, and so is 'i let it in'. pesonally love Stigmata, Babylon and Its Yours on 'the cold sun'. Also the album has such a cool underlying story that reminds of that Dark Souls style of story telling where its not immediately clear what the story contains.
for 'i let it in' i mostly care about the slower songs like A Sad Cartoon and Is It Really You but Heavy is The Head i also think is a really good song. This album was like a breath of fresh air to me since id been so heavily into deathcore for a few years at this point i hadnt listened to much "softer" music in a long time and this made me go on to appreciate lots of other genres.
I think i prefer The Cold Sun because its the album that got me back into metal back in 2017, i started in about 2012 when i was 10 and then stopped in about 2015 after basically just listening to Lost Forever//Lots Together by Architects the whole year prior.
As for the EP, i love it. All 4 songs on it are some of both bands best work. White Hot is a song that still gives me chills every time i listen to it and Servant and Master was such an odd song that caught me off guard with its heavy distorted synths and really interesting groovy riffs but i love it. As for the Holding Absence side, Saint Cecilia will always be one of my favourite songs ever, its a beautiful piece of music that tugs on my heart when i hear it. I have a similar opinion on Everything aswell, while Holding Absence isnt a band i keep up to date with they do know how to make some very emotive music.
