what is talent in cs go

Italy be_objective_pls
well, basically it's reaction time, 100% of top 20 players have a faster reaction than an average human, and 75% of all pros also. So if you don't have fast reaction time it's quite useless to try being pro.

sad truth based on facts, check any gameplay of average you will see the reaction is quite faster than the averagw

ofc reaction speed is above average among pros. it's just a terrible and shortsighted conceptualization of the term talent in csgo. this is why you deserve 0/8, besides the bad quality of the bait obviously.

I also have higher reatction time than average human, but i guess we just trained to have our optimal reaction time. Around the top 7% i did the human benchmark thing which is 170ms.

talent in csgo is knowing which balls to rub to make it in the pro scene
2022-01-15 15:56
Hand-eye-coordination. While this is a skill that can be improved over time, some have naturally better hand-eye-coordination and a higher genetic limit. You can train for 10k hours, but you will never hit the shots consistently that s1mple and niko do hit. And there is also gamesense. How you react in fast moments is also a talent, but anyone can get on a decent level here. Some people like ropz, zywoo and s1mple are however way better than others in this field. Someone like kyojin will never have the gamesense that zywoo has.

that is part of it but saying that talent is just about reaction time is nonsense

strange, bc you can clearly see the difference between an average cs go player(i believe he is lvl 10) and above average pros.

You can see differences between the two in more than just reaction time

you dont have to have fast reaction time if you are playing rifles (no awp)
2022-01-15 16:08
Exceptional reaction time is one of least necessary talents in game like cs, where only single gun can reliably kill with single bullet, where crosshair placement is primary fundamental, and where you have to stop before shooting to be accurate. Reaction time means jackshit if you gotta spend several hundreds of additional stacked miliseconds to counterstrafe, move crosshair towards enemy and then have to engage into a much longer process of spraying bullets if first bullet did not result with a kill. Exceptional reaction time can give edge and be useful to awping, but not requirement to become great at the game.

+1 you can have 120ms reaction time but your average time to kill time can be 0.8sec or even more meanwhile pros have 0.5-0.6

reaction time is worthless in cs:go, you still need to move the cursor to the head. That's the part where most fail

There's lots of pros that have done the reaction time test that have gotten worse than average. I'd say on am individual level 80% is simply crosshair placement and gamesense, 20% is actual mechanical skill But again, CS is a team based game. Lots and lots of players have individual ability, but actually making it in tier one is all about your team play

shooting in csgo is a mixture of many different mechanics that needs to be handled simultaneously. Crosshair placement being one of the mechanics, and gamesense being substitute to describe cluster of other mechanics, that are just too difficult to describe in just few words.

I really like the comparison between S1mple and Zywoo on rifles, in terms of their aim style. It really highlights how it's hard to say one particular thing makes someone a good CS player in terms of aim Zywoo looks like he's walling every time, I swear man. His crosshair placement is ridiculously skilled, he doesn't have to move his mouse to get a kill S1mple on the other hand, while he has relatively great crosshair placement, but I'd say mostly his success comes down to his snappy high-sense aim Two extremely different styles, two best players in the world
