well had intel all my adult life and they never had over 60-65 degrees and my amd goes to 80+ up to 90 regularly so i couldn't give less of a fuck about what some magazine features when i have my own real life experience to back up my claim

my take is i don't give two fucks about any 3rd person tests when i have my own which have dramatically different results from the others
might have gotten a bad chip with the ryzen but when i actually googled it there were pages and pages full with people having the same issues never had this with intel despite overclocking
hell i had better temps with overclocked intel than i have with my undervolted ryzen now
i still like the ryzen as it is super fast the fan noise is annoying tho
Guess you dont know how ryzen work after all these years.... PBO overclocks itself till it either reach max PPT or 90c.
I imagine you got 5800x? since its easy for that to get high temp bcus of the small surface area it has compared to 5600x, 5900x and 5950x who has their cores split up = more surface area to get rid of heat.
Nobody cares about temperature these days on cpus other than intel plebs who are still stuck in the past.
Simple solution for ryzen is to lock PPT to 125 or less, shud save you 10-20c, with maybe 1% performance lost.
But 12th gen intel cpus are ovens.... they literally have to throw almost double the watt to beat ryzen by up to 25%.

they take around 40% more tdp but up to 25% is also insane performance gap
and no temps DO matter as fan noise is annoying as fuck and longevity can be an issue
i own both ryzen and intel and by calling others "fanboys or plebs" you just make yourself sound like a biased keyboard warrior degen
and yes i do own the 5800x as i thought 8phys cores is the perfect balance between longevity for gaming and not overkill like the 5900 or the 5950 even and i didn't care to google potential flaws i also have a friend who tells me his 5800x never exceeds 65 degrees and we got the same cooling
i rather upgrade more often than spend so much on high end stuff

Just make ur fan not go higher than you like it to go? if you put ur fan to 100% the cpu will just boost higher till it hits 90c again, if you lower it it will hit 90c much sooner, unless it hits ppt first.
90c is not a problem and longevity is pointless since they can run 90c 24/7 for 5 years+...
90c is only a problem because you make it into one, its almost like you think companies cant make products work with 90c...
His 5800x can be a pretty lame one that cant overclock much which will keep it at the ppt it was designed for, where most 5800x can easily go 20-25watt higher.

Yes, I was the one who linked it and agreed Intel is better overall.
I disagreed that it was oven, it's objectively better at cooling and heat distribution at the same performance with better power consumption.

Not rly... if their response is a cpu that almost doubles in watt to beat ryzen by only up to 25% then its pretty lame and they gonna lose badly if they dont step up way more.
The upgraded ryzen 5000 series with 3d cache literally catches up to that if not surpassing it... if amds 6000 series or whatever they gonna call it have 25% or more than the 5000 series like they usually do with the same tpp and 3d cache on top well bye bye intel unless they actually step up.

Yes AMD is unfortunately inferior now. They were equal and then better from 2017-end of 2020 so that's where my comment came from

yeah i figured if you go for intel rather buy a cheap one and upgrade every few years as the expensive ones aren't worth the extra cash as you need a new mobo for almost every new gen anyways and every 3 gens > older expensive cpu you potentially even save money so getting a 150-200€value chip every few years + new mobo > 300€+ chip

That would only work with the i7-11700 though since intel switched socket between 11th and 12th gen, for the i5-12600k youd still need z690
