Really depends on what cpu range you need and what youre getting for which price really
Intel and amd are very close rn (amd slightly ahead for the last view generations, intel now ahead with 12th gen) but there can totally be situations where one or the other is just the better choice in terms of bang for the buck even if the other brand is considered ahead in that moment.
Like i got an i5-10600k a year ago because it was good enough for me and amd ryzen 5600x, whilst a bit better in performance, would have been a good bit more expensive because they had supply issues.
So yeah just saying "go amd, intel sucks" or "go intel, amd sucks" without considering usecase and pricerange of the desired models is just massively stupid
