Don't overthink about gym and it's only good things from it but focus too much and there's problems coming in as body dysmorphia, different view on food where you can't enjoy tasty things without feeling as shit etc.
Biggest tip I could give is avoid social media aka fake nattys(instagram influencers, video bloggers), focus on yourself and you will see and enjoy the progress which could be hard if you thought the juicers who claim natty is the norm. Also angles, pump and lighting makes sooo much different

You dont need to go to the gym to get fit but it makes it a lot easier, when i used to go i had to get a train everytime so id do a better workout to make it worthwhile.

I did gymnastics as a kid but was forced to stop because of Hypermobility and therefore I got fat, not to cope just cause I was used to being able to eat a lot of bad stuff.
With your starting physique and the fact that you barely can gain weight, you can become a beast, within a year or two, but you have to go the extra mile for it and really want it, cause else you aren't gonna reach your potential. But I believe in you
