There is no noticeable performance drop, it's miniscule. This video here: youtube.com/watch?v=OIGM6s-tJZE claims that there is a big performance drop and that's why valve won't do it, and he shows that by a difference of 40 frames in benchmarks. But that's when you host the servers yourselves, when you play in a dedicated server the difference is miniscule. And for those of you saying that in faceit you have fewer frames, that's mostly due to faceit ac/client, it has nothing to do with the tick rates. Valve has no excuses, stop justifying greedy devs.

Why would they spend money on something that 90% of their players can't tell the difference from, plus there are already suitable alternatives around in Faceit/ESEA/Esportal Valve don't have a reason to upgrade other than 0.01% of the playerbase whining about it

Just because you can't tell the difference in shooting doesn't mean it ins't more accurate, and also if you are higher than silver you surely have heard of jump throws, or bunny hops where there is a huge difference. Almost everyone playing cs wants the upgrade, it's not a niche thing.

The people that exclusively play mm will learn 64 tick lineups regardless. Sure it'd be more convenient but you are again talking about a tiny amount of the playerbase that actually learns jumpthrows and plays both mm and 128 tick services. And it's not really what players want, it's wether or not it makes sense from the standpoint of Valve. Players are entitled, if we were to give players whatever they want then they'd never stop asking for more.

at this point it probably doesn't make sense for them, god knows what kind of money the 3rd party sites make for Valve. it's just sad we got to this point in the first place.

nope, it doesn't. in shooting I feel latency may play a bigger role, but in some (rare) instances tickrate is to blame. what makes the biggest difference (outside of jumpthrows) is movement. 64t movement is perhaps not inferior, but it 100% is different from 128t. so switching from tickrates is as #22 said a different feel. as I play on valve servers only for operations, it's very noticeable when I try to bhop. on 128t I pull off 1-3 hop combos consistently, on 64t I almost always stomp instantly. different timings on scroll. TLDR: feels different, mostly due to movement. shooting almost negligible, but still prefer 128t

idk why people want 128 tick in mm as if it will change anything. there is no incentive for them to upgrade because people who care about tickrate are more competitive than people who dont so naturally they will move to a more competitive platform than mm ( aka faceit ). casuals couldnt care less. not to mention how they dont lose any players from not upgrading because ultimately they are still playing the game, just on community hosted servers. nothing changes.

The hole dynamic of mm being useless and just for casuals is stupid. In every competitive game, (Dota LoL, Valorant, Overwatch, R6), the mm system is working. But you guys think it's healthy and normal for the game to have to play in 3rd party to play normally. Fuck that, at least in other games I don't have to download third party clients with 90% smurfs to play the game normally.

it's funny that u use that video to support the need for 128 tick when that same video clarifies why it wont happen: - There is some difference (even if ur not hosting it) - There is the need for unnecessary server upgrades (yes, the servers must be upgraded over time, nonetheless this is time wasted by the devs to upgrade the facilities and not working on the game) and, most importantly: - It has been already proven that you cannot see the difference. Maybe a pro player can, but you're no pro player: youtube.com/watch?v=a9kw5gOEUjQ What about the fact that the shot dont regist as good in 64 tick? Ping has a bigger effect on that, you have multiple videos proving that.

The problem with CSGO in general is this broken ass engine and not enough people who works in CSGO dev. I have pretty good PC, basicly fps_max 300 and 300 fps all the time on MM. Drops on DM's with 20 people to 200~. The thing is, people with medium quality PC's notice fps drops every single update. The game is worse every single day for most people. Also even with my PC sometimes my FPS on inferno / cache / ancient drop to 50 or I feel "lags" or stuttering while I have 300 fps. CSGO have really bad engine or its just fvcked up by people who works in Valve. I have better fps in waaay more demanding games.
