Statistics favour ZywOo plus an MVP to boot.
NiKo has godlike statistics but no MVP's, just a boatload of EVP's aside from a silver medal at the Major.

How sure are you about sh1ro being above ZywOo? I hadn't even given much thought into it, but I'm having doubts now.
For example, overall stats:

Yes, sh1ro leads Rating2.0, but Niko beats sh1ro with significant margins in all categories except KAST and DPR. This kinda reminds me awfully of Jame vs Yekindar, where Jame had higher overall stats (1.16 vs 1.14) and more MVPs than Yekindar, but still ranked lower than Yekindar.
I just gave an example of overall stats, but same applies for big events as well. And once we move into Elite events and stuff, Niko's individual stat categories are leaps and bounds above sh1ro's stats. Even against Top5 and Top10, Niko has huge leads compared to sh1ro, which will carry some weight. Tgwri1s already said that Tier3 MVPs won't make a difference, so do you think Katowice MVP is enough?

Recently I had some glimpses of doubt that sh1ros gonna be higher too. There are so many reasons for NiKo to be 3rd. Before Ax1le and hobbit were announced to be 5th and 6th respectively I had thought that Ax1le's VP value were higher(I thought Ax1le had more evps and hobbit hadn't major evp) but it turned out to be all the way around. Even though ax1le VP value happened to be lower he managed to gain higher place only by his pure stats and more consistent high peaks at Big Events . That fact speaks for itself as now its crear that evps/mvps dont have that much value displaying only how great of a peak a player had at a particular tournament.
It means that sh1ros evps won't make a great difference + I as far as I remember BlameF was ranked so high mainly because of his stats vs top5/10 teams (which NiKo was much better at than Sh1ro)

I personally only doubted before Electronic was announced, since I wasn't sure how much would LANs be weighted, especially for Navi players. After he was announced, I was personally confident that Ax1le > Hobbit, by both stats and MVPs. EVPs rarely matter, unless they are elite events EVPs.
But yeah, Niko seems like a better candidate for some reason now xD. I guess my personal favoritism for Niko isn't helping that either. Against Top5, Top10, and in terms of Impact, KPR, ADR, Niko beats sh1ro in all the events filters. And in elite events, Niko is significantly higher in all the categories. I might change my prediction to sh1ro 4th, in a while xD

I thought sh1ro's MVP/EVPs were enough but I was wrong. And he actualy got an EVP from every event so its surprising that NiKo is above him

I can relate it to Jame vs Yekindar's case, so it made sense to me in that way. And that was accentuated further by the huge discrepancy in LAN big events, ratings against Top5 and Top10.

Yeah, it also looks like his Cologne and Major peaks really helped NiKo because the article said Sh1ro's peak at katowice was less impressive than others. The difference should have been very close between them imo

This is a bit strange cos NiKo had only 2 notable high peaks that can considered as "impressive" : at Major and iem winter, while sh1ro had plenty of them even thou not so huge. NIKo's colonge's peak wasn't any better than sh1ro's peak at katowice.
I believe it was all about rating vs top5, Elite rating and his Impact rating that made difference

Damn, the users with the most points guessed all NiKo for 4th place, interesting opinion.
Just talked about #4 spot with a friend, compared sh1ro, ZywOo and NiKo in 5 minutes and it was pretty clear it was 2) ZywOo, 3) NiKo and 4) sh1ro.
Seems like a complete whiff from the users with the most points :)

It was essentially a 50/50 guess no matter how you sliced it, there was no whiff anywhere and both players absolutely deserve the placings that they received.
It was superior statistics versus 3 MVP's and an equal boatload of EVP's - Definitely a tough call.
