First of all there is no CIS region in valorant like in CS:GO. And if u ever watched valorant esports u would have known that EMEA (EU+CIS) could have taken at least 15 slots if it was possible at Champions qualifiers. And valorant is really being CIS dominated (just not as hard as in CS:GO).

Sure, but why is it that most of the EMEA teams were EU and not CIS then? I see you trying to form an argument, but it still doesn’t change the fact that EMEA was dominated by Liquid and Fnatic for most of the year. The top 10 in the EMEA contains 2 CIS teams. That’s less than the number of Turkish teams in their own region, let alone the esport as a whole. And even if you want to put a lot of stock into Gambit’s sudden rise at the end of the year, ACEND did the same thing, except they actually won Champions.

Even Acend has CIS player in it. CIS team was considered the best for a half of the year and now considered the second best after Champions. The final went in Cloud9 - FaZe fashion, CIS team almost took the trophy. I'm not even sure that Acend would be favourites by odds against Gambit. EMEA was fucked by Riot last year, that's why ur point about other regions is wrong. CIS can be worse than EU sometimes, but there is no even competition between other regions and EMEA.

No CIS teams qualified for EMEA Masters 1, no CIS team qualified for Masters 2 Reykjavík, there was only 1 CIS team at Masters 3 Berlin, and there was only 1 CIS team at Champions. And in both cases it was Gambit. That means out of like 58 team slots CIS had 2. That’s less than 4%. And Gambit was only good for the last couple months of a 14 month season. And even if you wanna argue the region based slots, CIS is still only 2 out of nearly 20 slots.

But CIS teams had very few chances to qualify. Imagine major in CS:GO where CIS and EU teams r playing the same RMR with only 4 slots for the major. Ofc flukes will happen and some great teams wouldn't attend the major bcs of it.

I think the biggest problem EU is having right now, is that a lot of really good players are scattered across so many international teams, with 1-3 really good players and 2-3 players that are dogshit...
You see how many danish players are on top 30 teams? Considering the danish population only contributes to like 2% of the playerbase, i think we're still doing good. Same with other countries ( CIS are only playing with CIS, probably due to the strong language barrier )
The biggest problem in EU as of now, is that nobody has figured out to actually make an international roster work, until then... I don't think we'll see EU on top again.
