#2 who? is it zywoo or shiro
1brisk |
United States dyragu
zywoo 1.28 is the better individual but hltv values mvps and results a lot more so in hltv logic shiro 1.22 > zywoo 1.29 if hltv picks shiro 1.22 < zywoo 1.29 it makes no sense based off 2019-2020 where hltv picked s1mple 1.29 > zywoo 1.28 in 2019 and s1mple 1.29 > zywoo 1.28 in 2020 (filter top 20) actually, now that I'm writing this, a difference of 0.07 actually might make zywoo #2 idek anymore lol does hltv value the mvps and the online results of shiro or the rating difference overall more here?

There a a lot of filters and stats components that matter. Moreover the context of that stats is important too. Elite Event rating, Big Event rating, Big Match rating, Rating against top5/10/20 etc. sh1ro has disadvantage at all this stats His MVP/EVP value won't be enough to catch up with zywoo's numbers cos difference is too huge

Agreed, the difference between Zywoo and sh1ro rating-wise is just too big. If sh1ro gets second it would be very weird, I definitely expect Zywoo to take that spot. The statistics speak for themselves.

Big events? You mean like the major where NiKo and s1mple’s rating were on an island together? Last quarter of the year it was s1mple and NiKo as the top-2 and it wasn’t close. Except there are 9 other months before that that factors in. Don’t forget Sh1ro spent the first 5 months farming T3-4 teams. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. NiKo has a better chance at being #3 than Sh1ro has at being #2, but it’ll be s1mple, ZywOo, Sh1ro and NiKo, in that order, as the top-4.

No, they don't. They never did. Pick any published article. I'll just go with the last one, as an example for you. Ax1le: hltv.org/news/33130/top-20-players-of-20.. The article's cover page shows that his Rating is 1.18, impact is 1.19, etc "Top20" filter shows his Rating is 1.17, impact is 1.18: hltv.org/stats/players/16555/ax1le?start.. Clearly, you are wrong. These are the overall stats: hltv.org/stats/players?startDate=2021-01.. You can verify the numbers here with any of the articles published so far.

6 trophies (2 RMRs, 1 useless v4, 1 small but at least tier 1 IEM Summer, 1 BIG event and 1 elite Katowice) Conclusion: zywoo 1 elite event, sh1ro 1 elite event. RMRs and tier3 tournament shouldn't even be counted, so sh1ro has only 3 relevant trophies (all online btw). 3vs1 = not really such a difference

Clutchs shouldn't count as stats. The way it is done mean nothing. For instance : zywoo has more clutchs than Sh1ro this year per round. Because Sh1ro played 1000 round more than Zywoo, he got more raw clutches. At the same time, since Gambit win more, Sh1ro might have less opportunity to clutch than Zywoo. But maybe zywoo play more agressive and is not dying last as much as Sh1ro... As for the dead per round, the fact that as a team gambit win more round, also mean that one player or more stay alive at the end. You could also argue that some player play agressive and entry alone, whereas progress into the map with teammate helps. So the dead per round ratio means nothing.
2022-01-19 13:39
zywoo is better according to all important statistics, stop thinking that sh1ro can be top 2, two useless MVPs on the CIS RMR and V4 will not help him

Nope, 2019. Zywoo was undeniably #1, but there was a debate as to who would be #2 or #3, because while S1mple had better stats he was constantly let down by his team and never progressed far in tournaments, whereas Device has multiple more MVPs and such

Ah I see. I thought you were referring to the race for #1 between s1mple and device in 2018, given that it was the greatest year for Astralis and device, he even racked up 7 MVPs, but still lost the #1 spot to s1mple because his stats were ridiculously high. I guess both years make a good comparison!

device had 3 MVPs in 2019. device 3 - 1 s1mple in MVPs (2019) sh1ro 3 - 1 ZywOo in MVPs (2021) The difference is - s1mple was 0.07 ahead of device in 2019. ZywOo is 0.05 ahead of sh1ro in 2021: hltv.org/stats/players?startDate=2021-01.. But device's MVPs and trophies were much more valuable than sh1ro's, so that compensates for the lack of rating gap between sh1ro and ZywOo. Overall, it's the same story. ZywOo > sh1ro.

HLTV doesn't add any TopX filter to any of the stats. It's always events-based filters with a calculated minimum map count, without any TopX filters on top. Regardless, agreed that ZywOo is definitely above sh1ro this year.

Obviously zywoo is second. The question comes between shiro and Niko for 3rd. Niko has been far better on LAN (by a margin of .09), but shiro did better (to a lesser extent however) during the online half of the year. Niko is also ahead in terms of impact and adr. Personally I’d put Niko as #3 because without him g2 would’ve been consistently out of the top 10, but in the case of gambit, they would easily still be a top 5 team with any other passive awper. Even just considering stats, I’d favor Niko because shiro just farmed low dpr the whole year. It’ll be interesting to see. Personally I’d say that shiro being above Niko is daylight robbery and would completely kill the legitimacy of the list in my eyes.

Logically and factually speaking, it would be a daylight robbery if Niko got 3rd. It's not about how impressive Niko looked during the last 3 months of the year, it's an objective comparison of their performances across the entire year. 1) Overall stats: sh1ro > Niko 2) All MVP-based events: sh1ro > Niko 3) Big Events: sh1ro > Niko 4) Big events Playoffs: Niko > sh1ro, though with lesser maps than sh1ro 5) Elite events: Niko > sh1ro 6) MVPs: sh1ro > Niko 7) EVPs: sh1ro > Niko Overall, sh1ro > Niko. sh1ro will be 3rd, it's almost guaranteed now.
2022-01-19 06:04
4 replies
The first three things you noted they have equally good stats if you look any further than rating. Regarding points 4 and 5, Niko is ahead by a very notable amount. You can’t understate that lead because it’s the biggest differentiating factor between the two. MVPs should only come into consideration as a tie breaker considering how it’s mostly a team achievement to get one. EVPs nobody has any idea about, but odds are that Niko has around 8 this year, so that shouldn’t be treated as a hinderance for his ranking.

Good points, let's see. In addition, if HLTV decided to prioritize ratings against better ranked teams and the incredible LAN showings, I can see a world where Niko gets 3rd.
2022-01-19 13:47

I really hope he does because shiro is simply not a player I want to see replicated. In fact, if he were more aggressive I wouldn’t say it’s absurd to think gambit could be a top 1 team. I see his passive style as a hinderance to gambits success, because while he doesn’t miss kills he needs to get, he doesn’t ever really go beyond what he has to do. That’s to me a huge separating factor between gambit players and a bunch of these other top tier players. Gambit tends to be very consistent. Players like Niko, zywoo, and simple have this insane ability to take control of the entire game in a way that we really only started seeing in 2018 with simple.

2022-01-19 05:59
Dont forget ther zywoo farmed a lot of his stats in groups because of vitality badness they didnt go to playoffs often. Hltv values rating in playoffs more(as they should)
2022-01-19 06:14
ZywOo didn't only get just one MVP and trophy, Vitality failed to make it far into many important events while Gambit got to playoffs, and usually quite far every time. It's not just wins, that Sh1ro has over ZywOo, he also has the better rating where it matters most. Sh1ro isn't as flashy as his two counterparts, but his level of play is almost equal between every match (not taking his general inconsistency into consideration, since ZywOo has it too). Sh1ro has enough statistical advantages to be ranked above ZywOo even without the full drawer of MVPs.

Doesn't matter anyway, it's just some numbers of a videogame. But Sh1ro has a higher KAST, higher K/D ratio, and if you look only at playoffs he has a higher rating, impact and damage per round too. ZywOo doesn't do well in playoffs at all, and that's the rare times when he even makes it to playoffs. Plus, just look at H0bbit and Ax1le who ranked above Electronic just because they had MVPs, even though Electronic had better stats in pretty much every regard. For sure Sh1ro has the advantage in the ranking taking everything into account. But we'll see.
