I feel like at this point it has more to do with the team that exists around them rather than, well, the players themselves both are at such a high ceiling that winning events is what might cap one above the other on a head to head so it'll probably just depend on Vitality vs Na'Vi results in grand finals and whatnot, assuming both teams are the top 2 of 2022

had a talk with a friend today at lunch time about this and said the exact same. following the path of the 3 previous top 20 editions (4 with this one) the best player was always from the team who had the better year and this theory shall stay for longer. The #1 of 2022 will depend on which team performs the best and wins the most, on the long term. those 2 guys are a long shot ahead of the curve that it will be decided on details if both teams go on to be very strong.

Achievements alone. If simple isn't #1 this year this its 100% rigged. Navi won every lan event with s1mple being mvp at all of them, including the major. Event tier holds more weight for evps so you would think a major win + major mvp puts him in the lead, then you look at zywoo and how poor he played the first 5 months it shouldn't even be close Should be simple #1 Then the debate for 2nd out of niko and shiro zywoo didn't have a top 2 year in performance

It's going to be s1mple in 2021 for sure there isn't a question about that one, I cant wait for the 2022 BLAST event to start it's going to be exciting for sure to watch the new lineups especially teams like Vitality, G2, FaZe, MOUZ.

What if, s1mple got caught cheating in prior events before announcement of top1? Will hltv still give him 1 or they shift 1 ranks up and include 21th as 20th, or still give it to s1mple. Ps: hypothetical situation, no accusations.
