[POLL] What do you call “second entry”
 |
Hungary anw_
strawpoll.com/fa4gjr2e8 What do you call the role of the player that comes in after the entryfragger? Like the NiKo to JACKZ, frozen to Bymas, boombl4 to electroNic, etc. Some names i’ve heard have been: Trade fragger, second entry, star player, and star rifle.

Trade fragger imo. I wouldn’t call it star bc some of the guys who do it aren’t really stars just good riflers

I aren’t think that. I think this: Lurker = baiter Support = 2nd baiter AWPer = bait 2nd Entry = 3rd baiter Entryfragger = victim

I don't think there's a particular role for this. Depending on the play and on the positions of the players, anyone could be the second fragger. It's something you don't plan, but happens, unlike an awper or a dedicated entry which is discussed and planned beforehand. Second entry, refragger, trader, anything you wanna call it, but it's not a role, it's a situational type thing

ive heard people say refrag most commonly

Second or trade, I don't think the second necessarily has to be the star (ala Yekindar)
2022-01-20 04:56
boombl4 = star player

boombl4 is the entry for electroNic the star player. Bymas is the entry for frozen the second entry. JACKZ is the entry for NiKo the Star Rifle. That is what I meant.

Roles ARE outdated and its more of a compass between passive and aggresiveness. How much resources they are given and what spots. By your logic then niko is an entry a lurker an igl and a star People are too casual to see how much harder rush on col had it rather than someone like perfecto because no one knows where he plays except b apps on mirage and how much support each one has So create subroles like refragger? Each team is different anyways

Each team is different but have same roles. Resources given to a player is a very good point as a player like interz gets all the help they need to play support while someone like SANJI gets a p250 and kev on a full buy if he’s lucky. I don’t see how my logic makes NiKo an IGL + entry, lurker, and star. JACKZ is entry, nexa is IGL + Support, huNter is lurker, NiKo is star. The reason roles are so broad is so that if a team swaps players it wont be too hard to adapt to new team; mouz doing -frozen +NiKo is an easier player swap than faze doing -Ropz +BOROS because Ropz and Boros don’t play similarly in any way at all.

by role logic, niko does maybe 5 roles because hes that good. maybe you would just call him star then but i think theres alot more nuance in it and even then you drop the role argument. if someone looks to replace someone like ropz then mouz would ideally look for a player that is good at playing his positions like b stairs on vertigo, or b halls on dust2 on the t side. they would look for someone thats passive, good at being away from the pack and possibly be the second caller. maybe you would just slot hunter in, which wouldnt be a good fit despite him being a lurker on a lot of maps. or Interz who also lurks ALOT but ofcourse is a downgrade in decision making, skill and is used to playing bitch roles.

The correct answer is that they are the second guy in the entry pack. Its not really second entry because they aren't entrying, the guy in front of them is. And the star player is usually 4th in or 5th in. it Depends on the team and situation though.
