Introduction: This scam happened to me a while ago, but i see nobody talking about it so im making this tread to spread the word and prevent less ppl from getting scammed. I thought i'd never fall for a scam just like you but this was genius. I will try to keep it as short as possible. How it went down: I am a csgo trader, one day there was a person who came to me and wanted to trade their five-seven case hardened blue pattern. I usually dont take special patterns or floats, but he was pretending like he doesnt know much about skins, and back then his pattern + the condition i think that was Well-Worn was worth probably around $300 on csmoney and buff. Base price five seven was around 5 euro. So we were negotiating and i sent him a trade for 30 euro of his skins. I thought i was the smart one lowballing him. He had only a few skins in his inventory and only one five-seven. I've inspected it and confirmed its the same one. He declined my first trade offer and said it was too low, he said send a new one but add 5 more euro. I did it, he accepted and suddenly the five-seven was not blue anymore. How the scam worked: I think how he did it was, he had two five-sevens. The real blue gem was in his inventory in the beginning and the fake one was listed on the steam market for an overpriced value so you wont see it. Then when i sent him the offer, he declined it, unlisted the fake blue gem and listed the overpriced one back on the market. Its the only way since he didnt had a storage unit. So the second time when i sent him a trade offer, ive actually put the five-seven worth base price. I dont remember the actual amount i got scammed for, but i got 5 euro from his five-seven and gave him i think 35 euro. So lost 30 euro from that. Hope this helps you out, gl not getting scammed
