He is one of the best in the scene in terms of his knowledge on the game's history he's always interesting to listen to and usually provides a take you wont hear from people like the HLTV podcast cuz they're way too tame and treat players like babies.

I think Thooorin sometimes says things to upset people so I can see why alot hate him but I love to hear his takes because he aint scared to piss people off giving a better perspective on a matter. For example use NiKo, Thooorin straight up calls him out for the roster on faze but also doesnt discredit niko as a player where as if you use HLTV confirmed they wont outright call niko out just credit him

He says a lot of true things that make sensitive people mad, a lot of good takes, also he says a lot of dumb shit, especially on twitter, has some god awful takes as well. Overall I would say, at events in a professional setting, he is a very entertaining part of the broadcast always, so I don't dislike him, but definetely not a fanboy.

I think he’s literally an asshole. I would respect him if he didn’t disrespect (kids in most cases) players the way he does. Some of the things he says has no place in professional sports. And yes. CS is a professional sport. He’s an absolute encyclopedia of the game though and a truly good analyst.

Zeus is a pretty good IGL, but I'm gonna be honest his fragging was pretty bot-like in comparison to other pros. He adds some spice to the CS scene, it makes it more interesting.

Zeus is the best IGL in east Europe of all time so far. You can't call someone a bot that won so much and you saw what happened to Gambit without him. The whole team was lost after he left. A bot couldn't do that to a team.

After that, a large part of the Brazilian community started to hate him, and he then started to make a kind of "indirect joke" involving monkeys and Brazilians... (as in the introduction of some video). He tries to bring up references to this episode... He apologized, but it's no use...
that mentality is kind of why NA is dead, if a kid is playing professionally then they should be judged by the standards of a professional. You might feel more at home watching riot games like league or Valorant where people have to apologise if they say a player was the worst performer on their team.

Hes a great analyst, has really good YT content, and 75% or so of his twitter takes are spot on. Hes also a very honest guy and not afraid to speak his mind on any topic. Even if you don't like him you have to respect those qualities, they're quite rare these days. He also occasionally has very funny memes/tweets
I like his YouTube content but I'm not a fan of the controversy and baiting he loves to revel in.
As a respected analyst and CS historian, I respect his knowledge but not his social media antics.

I think he is one of the best/most unique personalities we have in this game,has good charisma and says stuff very few people would say in front of a camera.He has great work ethic with hours of content in the 10000s and tons of events.
His downfalll is definetly Twitter because he comes off badly a lot of times,had tons of drama over it and he can feel obnoxious there.Otherwise he is one of the most entertaining(if not the most) personality in the scene,of all time.Without Twitter his perception would be so much better for sure

Getting specific attention after one of his constant dumb takes doesn't make him relevant. That's why from time to time he acts that way to gain some attention and proceed with his mental gymnastics to tell himself he's actually relevant (same as his fans).

What is a "large enough following"? I wouldn't call what Thorin has right now is a "large following". At a time he used to, but his entitled ass dumb statements have put him in a stagnant position where he's more relevant for his dumb antics than whatever work he does around the esports community.
"And is well respected by pros". It has more to do with the position he's held these years than actual respect. Just like RLewis. Also, players are just playing the game so if he's not disrespectful to them, why would they have beef? (Which he's had with many btw).
If you talk with people who had to deal with him far more often and behind the scenes (casters, production crews, TO, game representative, etc.) the story is different, isn't it?

He sometimes has his moments of brilliance when I root for him but in general I hate him. He is just an analyst but dares to boss around pro players, insults them forgetting that pro players are 1000 levels above him when it comes to understanding the game.

People here need to understand that that Thorin the analyst and Thorn the Twitter account are two different characters that Duncan is playing, that’s why no one can argue about his knowledge of the game, but use the Twitter argument to hate on him. His Twitter is purely used for entertainment and a lot of his “bad” tales are just to Fuck with the morons. He himself said that he was high as fuck laughing his ass off for minutes before he posted the I am esports tweet because he knew how ridiculous it was.

Its funny seeing people get mad over a twitter persona but he is way different on content/events
His knowledge about the history of eSports as a whole is unparalleled by any other eSports journalist. I respect him for that. Not going to go into detail about my opinion of him as a person
I like his mind for the game and I really enjoy his YT content and input as an analyst at events, though the latter has become rare. On Twitter he's mostly a baiter and I don't like baiting, but fortunately I don't use Twitter, either. Obviously I don't agree with all of his takes, but I also feel that people want to crucify him more so for his character than for his takes, which to me makes no sense; No matter who voices an opinion, the value of that opinion should not change based on who voiced it.
He's one of the best personalities to come out of esports, I like his ruthlessness when it comes to criticizing people, I might not agree with everything he says but I watch all of his videos and I might get into LoL just so I can watch more of his videos.
