no. Black Mesa isn't replacement for Half Life, it even changes whole chapters of game to be entirely different. (on rails, entire xen) It's a good treat to those that have gotten tired from playing HL1 though.

i remember playing one of these games, it was hella fun but sometimes buggy. For example, I aimed at the enemy, but the crosshair did not turn red and I could not damage him, sometimes I had to move the crosshair all over the screen and look for the hitbox. probably one of my first games where you could shoot body parts off

+1 I would love to erase these games from my mind, just to experience it once again. To start playing it like and puzzle game, without any knowledge, getting the easter eggs and then almost shit my pants at the end of Portal 1. Yeah Max Payne is sick. Far Cry 1 would be aswell, I recently tried it again but unfortunately AI is horrible and the game is super bugged. Couldn't find a fix :(

Im not gonna repeat what has been already said but i zink nobody proposed "zone of the enders 2nd runner", its been recently on discount for around 6 euros. Also you might try prince of persia trylogy + prince of persia 2008 (which never had a 2nd installment cuz it sold under expectations :D) Definetly try Prototype & Prototype 2 Keep in mind that in most of those games you'll have to limit FPS to 30-60 or sometimes even turn off cores. For example, you have to leave only 1 core in Prototype 2 early tutorial mission or otherwise you wont be able to proceed. Similar to GTA IV helicopter QTE :D
