LoL is much easier to learn but has a higher skill-ceiling.
I think it's mostly focused on the two ends: the horrible players and the pros, but not the players in the middle. Also it's very toxic.
If you know one of them there's no reason to swap, if your friends are all playing the other, sure, but just for the experience it's not worth it.

thats delusional bro, i love cs but valorant is way more beginner friendly and most of the people that want to get into fps would rather start valorant because its more beginner friendly and not everyone has 5k hours already, most of the players playing cs are the ones that play it for years while valorant will get new players, cs still bestest tho

u count wards as items? xD
in dota u should use dust, smoke, and wards ( sentry and observer ), also things like stick, tango, healing salve, clarity, etc. Btw those items are the most basic ones.
Also, with the neutral items, and aghanim and aghanim shard's many new skills are added to the hero, which I believe lol does not have.

wards are an item if bought yes, its also a skill to know how to place them properly. Idk anything about dota but I doubt any of the games is easier than the other, both seem to be pretty indepth and hard to get in to since theres shit tons to learn, which leads to majority of the playerbase being gold (average). Idk how many champs exactly in league there are rn but with the amount that come out each year aswell as frequent changes to both items & champs, you constantly have to learn new things. It aint about "you gotta learn this you gotta learn that", in both I think theres plenty to constantly catch up on

I can not agree with you more, obviously, these two games get many new updates, and nobody can learn them properly, however, sincerely, I have to say that dota is more complicated than lol with all the ability comps, items; in terms of gameplay and complexity of the map. I tried lol, and it felt so simple that you nearly always know what is gonna happen, but in dota anything can happen anytime which makes it so much harder. It would be much easier to explain my point if u have played dota once, still great argue mens)) I see your point.

Difference between league and lol in my opinion is that you die twice in league because of bad positioning or getting outplayed can mean game lost.
In Dota people die to the right and left and theres still always a chance for the comeback.

Both are made for people who aren't smart and skilled enough to play starcraft, so pick whatever.
Enjoyment? Dont think so, kinda 1 dimensional in low ranks, u cant look in game what abilities of other characters do by clicking on them, thing that really sucks as a new player compared to dota where u can check in game. I also feel like the characters are pretty boring in lol except for a few and as a new player is hard to distinguish the abilities in a fight. Projectiles feel very fast and hard to dodge, but ur movement feels slow unlike dota where i feel its the opposite. People will give up very fast if lane doesnt go as they want and if u have a 3-0 in lane ull probably be overpowered till late game, unlikè dota where u are more likely to get targeted, gamked and killed if u got advantage. Builds are kinda set in stone in low levels, especially skill builds where is no variation really.
The thing i think lol does better than dota, as a support player i felt like i can carry a game as a support rather than dota where i would have brown boots wand and wards 20 min into the game. (Didnt play dota in 2 years so idk if its still the case)
Tldr
Lol is faster, can solo carry easier, support is more fun
Expect people to give up 15min into the game, builds and 75% of champions are one dimensional

lol is the better game, but if you have a dota background i would stick to it, you are used to the game and you will enjoy it more because of bias.
I put 1000+ hours into Doto before playing LoL. It just always felt like babies first MOBA, everything is watered down in comparison. Not being able to outplay the other players in lane sucked, only ting you can do is chip damage or ask for a gank whereas in Dota there's denies and courier snipes. A lot of ults are similar (a lot of fuck you burst damage moves) and not great variety of heroes to use unless you're willing to spend. A lot more too but i cba to write out I'm watching csgo now :)

Lol is harder in some aspects, Split second decision making and mechanics matter much more, there is no Zed or Yasuo in dota, dota has bigger emphasis on macro and also has unique mechanical heroes- no meepo in league. League is much faster due to no turn rate, lower cooldowns, lower mana costs and overal design, there are almost no point and click CC in league. Both are moba but they are different games. You can only say league is watered down dota if you are dogshit and dont understand how the games work
Me and my friend play LOL as a joke basically if you want to start playing it to be serious, then no don't start playing it it's so much worse than csgo cuz if you're fucked in cs you still might have a chance to do something if you're fucked in league it's over and you will spend like 30 minutes o your time waiting for it to end cuz 2 people wont surrender.
LOL is a dumb version of dota but atleast riot cares about the game.

I played both of them extensively until last year, core mechanics are not "easier" dota has more depth because it has mechanics which do not exist in league, like courier or denying, but mechanics that they share dota is not harder, quite the opposite, dota is mostly point and click, characters take long to turn which makes for much slower gameplay

It's subjective, but LoL is simpler, imo less toxic, but can be fun and very dynamic

There are people that put thousands upon thousands of hours into dota(over 10k) and they are only 6-7k mmr. The game is very complex. Overall dota is a much harder game than league.

I played both a good amount 1k hours in League, 1.5k hours in Dota
They are pretty different experiences. I enjoy both, but favor dota more for its complexity and team fights. League has much less kills. It's worth playing if you never tried League but I always go back to dota in the end.

It's a dumbed-down version for sure. LoL is probably better if you are starting out in MOBA, but if you are already a Dota player, I don't think you will enjoy playing LoL.
