O7! Since I'm done with exams and got a couple of free weeks, I'm looking for ways of spending time. Recently saw a TikTok of WoW and the story looked cool! I've always liked this genre (medieval fantasy), so perhaps I'd enjoy WoW, since afaik it has a huge lore. I ain't planning to play the games, is there any other content? Films, books, series... If so, where should (if I should, are they good) I start? Thanks everyone and have nice vacations!

There's the Warcraft movie which I personally found really entertaining, I recommend it. There are also a few books, like the war of the ancients trilogy, it goes into the lore behind the night elves in WoW, but it might be boring for some people idk. I don't remember the names but there are other books as well. If you like the lore the best thing is to just play the game tbh, since you get to actually explore all these different areas and interact with the characters etc.

I think they all start with the same. Maybe a few new questlines. But WoW Classic is really popular, maybe you should start there. I starte WoW in the end of Lich King and never really got to experience the vanilla version, so classic was nice for me as well :)

yes I think the main proble for lore is that they leave 50% out of the game so you have to read books Most of the times they do cinematics that advance the lore and those are really good usually

There are tons of different things like movies, comics, books etc. The best way to learn about it is from nobbel87 on youtube he is like the WoW historian basically and has a lot of good videos.

if you play the game only play through vanilla / tbc /wotlk content. WoW is pretty fun if you've never played it before. There's a lot to do and explore.

Considering the access to all expacs except newest, its probably worth it for your first few months if you're new. Exploring, checking out the classes, pvp, dungeon spam, questing. If you want the free route just play a private server but its different than official.

yep, me too, the late 00s was the wow era battle grounds and flag capture were good deal, also pve part (karazhan and black temple) was also great too on Europe servers, the main base for duels was a place in front of a stormwind

i personally dont recommend wow (bit biased cuz guild wars player tho), if u just want lore go read some fantasy books, the gameplay its fine but u have to spend hella hours to become somewhat decent plus the monthly subscription is a bit too much (there are pirate servers, i dont know if still existe but there were a spanish pirate server very famous called "fumetas"). I would recommend you guild wars 2 cuz its free but its the biggest crap mmo ever so....
