no, if it had like 3 top10 teams then maybe but not
2022-01-26 15:04
Bruh aint no way its t1. T2 for sure

I think for a tournament to be tier1 it needs a decent pricepool which actually means most of top 10 are willing to put the time into the qualifiers.
It's a good tier2 tournament with some top contenders there if Gambit or likes get invited.

Not Tier-1, but solid Tier-2 definitely. Anyway, the definitions are subjective and biased. It is not S-Tier though, that's for sure. An S-Tier event would have like 6 Top10 teams, maybe even 15 Top20 teams (if it's a big event), etc.

I would say that it's an A-tier tournament like Funspark Ulti or V4 Future Sports Festival. S-tier is for example BLAST Spring Groups and IEM Katowice.
Why are we calling tournaments "tier 1,2,3... etc. " when we could call them "S, A, B... etc. tier"? It would be more simple because using the same measure for how good teams are and for how high tier the tournaments are is pretty hard.
You can argue that LAN Sweet LAN 2022 is a tier 1 tournament because it has 3 high tier teams in it, but then again you could say it's tier 2 because there are more not-so-high tier teams included. It's pretty hard to say which one it is because there is a mix of different tier teams included so it would definitely have to be in between tier 1 and tier 2, like tier 1,5, or something.
Instead of this, it would be easier to say that, oh, this LAN Sweet LAN tournament is an A-tier tournament, and it includes tier 1 and tier 2 teams. Or for example, you could say, that V4 is an A-tier tournament, but it only includes a few tier 1 teams and mostly tier 2 or lower teams.
This is why I suggest using alphabets for ranking events and numbers for ranking teams. This way there would be no conflicts as to what tier we should call an event based on the teams that are playing in the event.
Sorry for the long text, sry for no TLDR too. But what's your opinion

it's weird event, i would say 1.5 tier, yes it has some good t1 teams, but the rest are like tier 2 or lower so...
2022-01-26 15:27
if they invite Gambit over FPX and invite good teams maybe (like Furia, BIG, Fnatic, Dignitas so we can have f0rest on LAN or Godsent)
for now its a high tier 2/tier 1.5 cause they have Havu playing and they suck
2022-01-26 15:33
i think its tier 2 because the prize pool is smaller and it still features many smaller teams.
2022-01-26 16:24
Looking at the team list, looks pretty damn tier 2 to me. Gambit just likes to grind out these T2 events for easy money.
2022-01-26 16:26
For public and by common sense its tier 2 but should be mvp-worth for hltv
2022-01-26 16:27
>5 top 10 teams T1
>10 top 20 teams T2
<10 top 20 teams T3
trust me bro

2022-01-26 16:54
very cringe thread. What happened to the becoming pro grind btw? Stopped playing faceit already?
2022-01-26 16:56
Since everyone has their own definition of the tiers this thread is pointless. All it gets is stubborn kids who think they sit on the right answer fighting eachother for no reason.

LAN SWEET LAN is scheduled for April 1st.
EPL S15 ends on April 10th assuming Gambit make it to the playoffs which they always do ( or even win the whole thing ).
There would be no way for them to make the event.
2022-01-26 16:58
Is ecstatic going to be there?
2022-01-26 17:07
another free mvp for sh1ro
2022-01-26 17:43
No, it will not be tier 1 tournament mvp for sh1ro for next hltv top 20 list.
2022-01-26 17:49
S tier = Tier 1
A tier = Tier 1.5-2
2022-01-26 17:53

2022-01-26 18:46
