Support players

Why them playing like a bot is no problem because they are "support" players when most succesful team of all time had 5 top tier fraggers on team(astralis 2018 all of them top 20 player) I dont understand the logic behind it lol

There's no such thing as support players. It's an excuse to have bad game sense, aim but knowing all the nades. Everyone has to support others in a good team environment.

When you have someone like ZywOo it's, of course, smart to set him up for kills but it's not like it's very situational and depends on million factors.

support is usally a B player who then entries at t site ( jackz, for example). He simply cannot have great stats because he dies first when on T side and meets no one when he is on CT

Yeah, and it's not like they are significally worse players, they are only playing worse roles. I will also use JaCkz / Niko as an example: Because Niko has better aim, he is the star player and is given the best spots (yes, also does entrying but is still supported and given the freedom) . JaCkz also has a good aim, but being the support/entry player, his stats are affected whereas Niko's stats are boosted for being the star. That's why there is such a huge gap sometimes between a star's and support's stats.

How is playing a worse position every round situational

Support player is a role. Xyp is a great example of this role, or maybe NBK. Support player is a player who most of the times plays anchor on CT side, like B on Train, B on Vertigo, ramp on Nuke, B apps on Mirage, the guy who is holding the bombiste where no one goes, and when they go there they rush him and he gets 1 kills and gets traded. On T side he is the one who flashes for the team, when you go for B rush, support player is the one who will flash and go last, so he can clutch, or throws himself first for his team, but wont go second or third, thats where the star player is going. Support is there just to fill the gap. Trust me, I am playing this role for my entire life. I hate entrying, but I am reallly good at clutching, so I always go last, so then I can have 1v2 clutch situation. On CT I am playing B apps, I have no action there, and I am often times the one who is in 1v1 or 1v2 retake on A or I am saving. Support is a role.

I think Rush is the best example of a support player. Support imo isnt a role its a mindset. Rush would happily run in first ruin his stats so that the stars could play off that. Support mindset is allowing your stars to be in a better situation. Xyp is an exception he was a great clutcher so it just made sense for him to be playing the late round situations

Because fragging is just clicking on heads, not that hard, while support means to set up the fragging, which is something more complicated.

I wouldn't compare these. Being a good fragger, you have to have raw talent and insane aim. A good support needs the right mindset and learned knowledge (which can sometimes be more complicated)

probably because it was borderline impossible to have under 1.0-1.1 rating in Astralis back then because they were winning 90% of BO3s without those "bots" as you call them, half of your favorite head clickers or angle holders would get cleaned up around every angle beacuse there wouldn't be anyone to risk their life throwing flashes for them and the other half would have to play necessary map control positions that don't allow you more than 1 kill before getting traded instantly, which these guys also take up :D this just proves how shit you are at CS and/or how much you bait when you think that there aren't impossible angles to clear even for NiKo/s1mple where someone has to run through blind to get info

hahaha grenades are useless they don't kill hahaha! I always buy only ak47 (no kevlar because it doesn't kill the enemy) and run first to die and blame my teammates! Also support players are useless because they dont kill so much!

GODMANEK best support player all time
2022-01-27 19:55
Because it so happened that Astralis' support player was also able to frag quite well (especially under gla1ve's leadership)... most support players focus on other stuff so they aren't that good in terms of aim & with that - rating Not everyone wants to be a support player - in fact, most players want to be the star player of their team, so coming by a well-fragging support player isn't easy at all

I wouldn't say his aim was insane, but being a good support and at the same time every other piece in astralis working made them win almost every game which really boosted his stats and therefore OT says he was an isane fragger
2022-01-27 22:28

Yeah I agree, Astralis' success definitely boosted his stats and I know his aim wasn't insane either, but he was really good at clutching and from my experience support players who are good at clutching are super impactful (ex. Xyp9x, Perfecto, kinda me but I'm not a pro so...). But yes - their main job is to be good at supporting their star players.
2022-01-27 23:07
because you can't get 20 frags each when one player is on B site Mirage, where rarely nothing happens, and the other is playing conn ( lots of stuff) and an Awper ( rotator). You need someone to do the dirty frag, entry, anchor. That's why people with passive character are usually supports ( xyp, perf, interz)
2022-01-27 19:55
Astralis had all 5 in top 20 because they won 80% of their maps and in a dominant fashion so ofcourse their ratings were high + They never had a superstar like zywoo and s1mple so it was easier for the rest to get good stats.
2022-01-27 19:57
You need someone to sacrifice themselves and their performance so that other players can get the 5% extra help
2022-01-27 19:57
look at the positions people like interz are playing how tf do u expect him to get 20+ kills, plenty of rounds he doesnt even see the enemy

+1, I remember watching Perfecto's demo on Mirage. Throw smoke B aps, jump on car, check aps, go to A site and he either takes part in a retake ( already in a disadvantage) or everyone is dead

unfortunately people dont even pay attention to this and/or dont even know what to look out for they just go to matchpage and see "ugh he had 14 frags but other player had 19 and we know 19>14 so cut the one with 14"

I remember nafany defending interz from hate after they lost to navi. There is no way interz can get any frags when he plays with three players who have consistent 1.30.

his stats still lack when compared to his teammates. If b1t and perfecto swapped roles, I am sure perfecto would do just slightly worse than b1t

Maybe you just dont understand pro cs? Maybe it's that simple.

Its not excusable for them to be unable to perform but its acceptable to understand they will typically get less opportunities to kill as they are in shittier positions where they are supporting those going for the kills. Most of the time if they play their cards correctly, they will ensure that their fragging teammates secure the kills and as a result, they wont have to see anyone or maybe see 1-2 people. On the contrary if a hold or take goes wrong, they are typically going to be the last one into a site meaning they are put in a 1v3,4,5 aka an unwinnable position. But you can see how valuable a support player is based on their ability to clutch (doto, xyp, perfecto), ability to frag well in awful positions (Prime xyp, amanek), and flash to kill success rate (Interz, Perfecto) When they are doing none of the 3 things I listed (and others of course) then that means they are failing as a support player. TLDR: They dont see many people if the kills they set up go in their teams favor, They see too many people to win if team fails.
2022-01-27 20:09
"The whole CS community should start appreciating what some of these players are bringing to their teams, and I know there are many players like JACKZ or AMANEK, who are not being recognized or appreciated, and on top of that they are even getting criticized because they are not putting up superstar numbers." NiKo, a superstar
