It's a student programme provided by the European Union, where you travel to another country to study/work for one/two semesters. You also get some money from EU, so it's more manageable. F.e. I will get 520 € per month.

Putting in personal clients info from one server to the other. The first one is company's for the authorized entry only and the other one is public for many to see. I should make sure info is present in both and then take the identification code back to the private server as a confirmation that it's on the other one too.

there is no need, nowadays everything is in js statista.com/statistics/793628/worldwide.. kind of weird cuz node.js and typescript are branch of JS as well
2022-01-28 02:21
4 replies
well fullstack in general can be anything that requires both frontend and backend, not necessarily just web related, in my case it is and that's the most common one as well, but it can be some desktop app that has a GUI and backend services.
2022-01-28 02:48
Not necessary. You can easily be full stack .NET, Python (Django), Java (Spring) etc. Obviously leveraging node +react or vue is probably most simple to get started due to language being the same, but plenty of full stack devs are not doing only js (though basically every full stack dev does js in some capacity)
2022-01-28 03:02

that's what I meant, js is no-brainer choice, since you u gotta learn it anyways
2022-01-28 03:04
1 reply
Yea. only thing is that for a beginner it may be more useful to learn a strongly typed language. JS can get wonky
2022-01-28 03:09
javascript/typescript mostly, some c++ as well for few things, and obviously all the things that are required around this(basically mern stack)
2022-01-28 02:46
4 replies
Do you like typescript? I am a node dev so i dont do much FE but i've been wanting to learn typescript maybe
2022-01-28 03:03
3 replies
coming from a more structured languages like java,c,c++ where it's basically the default syntax, I don't really mind it, it's very useful in many cases when used properly, that might also depend on the configuration you're using, overall I like typescript. When working on big projects it's much more structured and you can easily prevent mistakes which might be quite easy to make in js.
2022-01-28 03:07
2 replies
yea i started with C# and miss the strongly typed structure. JS gets so wacky sometimes with its conversions and typings
2022-01-28 03:10
1 reply
yep, that's what somewhat makes js good in some cases, but it's also a weakness which ts comes to make up to.

Boston, I got some better offers in other areas, but I need to stay close here for now, so that's fine enough for me. Stock options and bonuses are like +3k a month if you calculate it, could slightly vary but it's pretty stable.

KinglyFish! Great to see you again, friend. :D How you been? ^^ Currently - Unemployed to focus on mental health. I used to have a full-time job which I call self-employment in essence - I would work on various websites for different companies and organisations, mostly in moderation/admin and website management.

How much do you earn/hour as mod/admin or web management? I imagine its like freelancing for them?
2022-01-28 12:36
4 replies
It kind of is and it kind of isn't, you are still employed by some of the websites and the companies that own those websites but it's still sort of considered self-employment/freelance in essence. As for pay, that depends upon the companies you work for and for how many you work for. :D
2022-01-28 12:44
3 replies
can you give a rough estimate for a certain kind of work?
2022-01-28 13:48
2 replies
It's hard to give a rough estimation because it depends on your position. Basic moderation positions are average pay but if you are in charge of moderation positions or you are a more managerial role in moderation, then lay is much, much higher... It also depends on the website you are moderating and initially work for, if you are a full-time moderator position as opposed to a part-time position, which won't really pay at all and used initially as a trial period for new moderators. Website maintenance and design is usually very good pay depending on which website company or organisation hires you. If you have ownership rights within the website, then your pay would obviously increase in shares. Are you interested in IT work, friend? :)

Configuration engineer Basically I code and configure templates from providers that will later be used by other company to provide benefits for their employees (like life insurance, meal vouchers etc) Sometimes writing scripts for old code clean up, or coding interfaces for data transfering between the company that uses the benefit and the provider. Currently waiting march for a well deserved promotion, i feel like im not paid enough yet for how much i have to do. But its enjoyable, 1st job, learned a lot and i still do everyday and I have many benefits beside money (cuz that is what my company basically does lol)
