Most consumer level cpus comes with integrated graphics processor. Recent ryzen iGPUs are even good enough for light games like csgo.

remember a few years ago when we were able to buy a GTX 970 or R9 290 for 300-350€ to get really close to highend performance back then? Good times. GTX Titan X ruined everything, GPU prices exploded after that.
It's sitting on the same level performance wise as the $380 1070GTX from 6 years ago and since you won't find it at MSRP, you're gonna pay even more than you would for the 1070 in 2016.

Get a desktop during sale with a gpu in it. I bought a full desktop in December for 899 euro feat I5 11400 and RTX 3060 and 16 GB 3200 MHZ + 512 M2.E SSD. I know not everyone can find similar deals but buying a piece of trash like 3050 at that price is beyond madness.

Remember, Nvidia spent their ces presentation rambling about cloud gaming and gaming monitors. With rtx 3050 and rtx whatever tai being throw out in middle like a garbage information. The only reason rtx 3050 exists is to shit on rx 6500 xt even more. It is given fake msrp price and barely any stocks, just so to have reason to claim this is not paper launch. Rx 6500 xt is terrible yes, but at least it's real gpu and not a marketing stunt.
If you consider rtx 3050 for prices it is at, then just go for rx 6600 xt. Lot faster.
If not rx 6600 xt, then consider that Gtx 1660 super and gtx 1660 ti are around same performance. And rtx 2060 is faster than rtx 3050.

1) be smart, don't buy into marketing
4 gig cards are less efficient for mining and they have less inflated price. Still inflated but not as much, look for one on used market and for ~150$ you should have a decent 1080p performer. R9 380 4 gig comes to mind, sure it's older but for most games it will run fine even for higher refresh rate monitors.
2) know the market, GPU mining is carrying the price
It's just profitable, rough math says that even with payout as low as they are in the winter you will pay off your card in less than a year, but with summer payouts you pay it off in 6 months and rest is pure profit.
Any GPU with 6 gigs of VRAM or more is gonna have an insane price. 1060 6gig I bought 3 years ago doubled in price
