they have 2 play 2 less matches and have 2 50-50 chances to make it through , instead of playing 3-4 matches to have a shot

i dont think you should go through based on 3 best of ones , better to play at least 1 best of 3. I do think that usually the ppl winning the best of ones will win the best of 3 but you never know

true but the tournament already in progress now so they cant change it

the only reason could be to prolong to tournament for more viewership.

more games = more revenue from ads and sponsors + more opportunities for blatant matchfix = more money for BLAST to keep up with their production and prize pools

last season we didn't have 80% of teams with very recent changes, I think it's a good compromise
