volvo goat company copium
because there are 2 majors?
Because we are back to 2 Majors per year.
>CSGO reasserts itself as the 2nd best eSport title in viewership despite you not giving a single shit and hiring a dogshit TO
>It goes well because NaVi/G2 finals
>Do it again with the same dogshit TO and a lower fucking prizepool in one of the weirdest places possible
1 million is enough pro palyers do nothing except eating fast food and playing csgo
Last major had a cumulated prize pool of 2 mln due to previous majors being cancelled. But I think they should keep it anyway just to make it comparable to other esports' prize pools
ask dota 2 players what they think about their ultra super hyper mega prize money :p
...spoiler alert! they arent happy with that + csgo offers similar money just in sticker money and more equally distributed
dota 2 prize pool is financed by players; 50% of money from battle passes goes to major prize pool, something like that I don't remember well
Someone should make a game exactly like CS, except have devs that actually care about the players
That why valorant will take over csgo. I love watching csgo but what the fuck are they doing.
Why not make some stupid "major pass" for 5$ and half goes to prize pool. Greedy motherfuckers fuck valve
Literally who cares, the sticker money more than makes up for it
CSGO and Volvo fanboys mad.
First of all international is crowd funded. Prize pool from valve is 1.6m
Secondly international has way higher viewer ship than major in csgo
It would be much much much better to have only 1 major with 2m
No one needs 2 majors. When you have only 1 major at the end of the year it's a great summary of the year with huge hype to close the year.
myb another major in november
who the fuck cares honestly ? It's not like you will get the money yourself
Be happy that the major is coming
The international is the biggest esports event no csgo major is to compare
All haters will be ignored
wait till arab money comes in. 5M per major
Personally I totally agree CS is getting shafted by prize pools aside from BLAST tournaments. This is probably the 3rd biggest esport behind League and Dota, yet the prize pools barely keep pace with Call of Duty.
Cuz in 2020 there was no major so its accumulated for two majors
Let me explain this
1 mn is normal.prize money
Stokholm major had 2mn as 2 majors were clubbed together
Sticker, signature sales go directly to the partocopating teams
Dota does not have such stckers etc..hence a portion of prize money is increased ny operation passes
cs has multiple events across the year where teams compete for prize money (dota doesn't afaik, only international, 3kliksphilip has a video about this), I imagine total prize money per year dota vs cs would roughly be in the same region, furthermore the prize pool doesn't include the sticker revenue which probably surpases the prize money while the international prize pool is including the season pass or whatever prize
the number looks diffrent but the outcome is probably more simmilar and the way cs prizes and tournaments are structured give more opportunities for smaller teams to get about as theres multiple tournamnets/chances across the year
Valve should implement the dota TI prize pool method.
Increase the prize pool per major passes and capsules bought.
the problem isnt a 1MIL$, the problem is that IEMs and Blasts already have those prize pools
will there be a coin for katowice 2022???
cs major isnt crowdfunding pretty sure
Dota 2 Major is 1 Million too. CSGO is yet to get TI event.
they did 2mil bcs it was an 1 Major/year maybe and im pretty sure this year will have 2 Majors so thats 1 mil for each one.
Rainbow Six's yearly "Six Invitational" has $3m prize pool and the scene is ALOT smaller
Prize pool of Belgium Major is 40m, but Gabe win 39, 1m - others teams
price pool is pointless. sticker money is the best. and for sticker money u dont even need to win. so basically making it to the major is probably already 100-200k guaranteed by sticker. if u have cool sticker like dickstacy iu probably make 1mil too.
mobile game tournaments probably has a bigger prize pool than cs go
why can't we have the type of prize pool like dota 2 has? like for every souvenir purchases, a small percentage goes to the prizepool or something. 😐 That's why some people aren't as hype as the dota fans are when it comes to major games.
They should increase the prize pool. Things like intel grand slam encourage teams to be in their best form year round which gave us astralis, liquid and navi eras for $1m. Bigger prize pools would certainly attract a lot of ambitious orgs.
They need to pay players more to reduce corruption; people can bet against themselves and make more if the prize pool is too small...
the entire csgo scene is rigged. valve makes most of their money getting paid by mafia betting websites and keeping the same people in the same positions for maximum corruption
2 mio was cause of no major in a long time.
AND more important, if Valve would give the cs go major the same money, lets say 40mio , as in dota, it would instantaneous devalue any other tournament that won't step up their prize pool to figures like that.
This might lead to certain teams playing only the majors and the respective qualifiers
Massive disappointment. It's an embarrassment that despite breaking all viewership records we go back to 1M. And don't give me that "now we have 2 majors per year again" crap. A Major cannot have the same prize pool as IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne. And now they only give stickers to players that reach the playoffs. The same prize pool as Valorant that's only 2 years old. Even PUBG has more, they had over 11M between 2 majors last year. PUBG!!! The combined peak viewership of both events was 412K. We had 2.7M! What a disgrace.
Valve always puts a base prize pool of $1,600 000 in Dota 2 The International's and the rest of the prize pool is gotten by crowdfunding, which means that 25% of the money made from their battle pass goes to the prize pool every year.
So it's not like Valve puts all of their money in Dota, CS just doesn't have crowdfunding for the major tournaments. Maybe they could do like that as well and put like 10% of the money gotten with the operation pass sales to each of the 2 yearly majors' prize pools, but as of now, they aren't doing that.
But I get what you're saying. If Dota 2 deserves to get crowdfunding to get such huge prize pools, like $40 000 000, then CS definitely deserves the same as well. CS has already surpassed Dota's player and viewer counts, but I guess Gaben just loves Dota so much, that he doesn't even care for CS or its player base like he does for Dota. Always shows up at The International's and all too, but never in a major. It is sad, but what can you do.
Did you forget about the profit from stickers?
In Dota this profit is included in winning pool and is given only to 1winner.
in csgo this profit goes to all equally.
Gaben loves Dota more
you wont earn nothing of that price so why do you care
who cares? pros already earn enough money, dota has the highest prizepool and is only the 3rd best esport
Teams make pretty good money from sticker sales
Well we are back to 2 majors per year and the main source of money for teams isn't prize pool, it's item sales (stickers, patches etc.) I'm pretty sure that money is more or less equal to (or even more than) TI's prize pool.
Why this thread? 2 million only cuz it was the major after we should have already 3 majors before
Sticker money etc make the real prizepool always above 10 millions
it's ridiciulous, 1 milion
Lmao what? Dota has much bigger viewership than csgo, if you compare only english streams then CS wins but dota is much more popular in russia than csgo and thats where main fanbase comes from, Dota>>>>>CSGO
The players get more than enough money for playing computer if u ask me lul
Teams get sticker money still
But ya valve don’t really give a fuck about this game, more news at 7
why are you comparing TI with a major? majors in dota also have only 1-2 mil.
its good that its not much more, would make other tournaments less hype.
lets say major 50m pool, who care about 500k blast?
hey monkey brains, the only reason why last major was 2 mil was because there was no major for 2 YEARS.
actually , dota has more viewers that cs:go ; why are you complaining that VALVE changed major's prize pool from 2m $ to 1m$ . did we have major at 20202?no
yeah honestly really garbage move from valve. We missed 3 majors during the pandemic, all TO's suffered losses because they couldn't host events while the game's player base went up because of lockdowns and Valve made even more money while releasing the same garbage-cash grab operations, with no fun missions. Now they provide a prize pool less than what other TO's are already doing-Cologne, Blast world finals etc. It's a shitty move from valve, at the very least there should have been 2 majors with 2,000,000$ prize pool
We dont expected, how many $ gived team from stickers.... its more money
DOTA have crowdfunding, thats why They had 40mil.
also CS is piggybank for Valve and They use piggybank money for other dead games and projects
Valve doesnt care about csgo?
Volvo greedy ass company and everyone knows it
What, csgo isn't dead yet?
Why do you guys care.
These players are getting paid 20-30-40-50 maybe even 60k a month on some teams to play a game.
They aren't going anywhere and they'll be fine.
why do you care? you wont get a single cent out of it
bro, TI and major ARE 2 different events . Dota's majors have the same prize pool as cs:go has ; TI is above major
