How do we beat a 4k elo stack
 |
United States Virgin Islands Mykolkaa
So my team qualified for the Ukrainian cup (the very first cybersport event officially recognized as a sports event in Ukraine). We are currently 2-1 in the group stage and to make it to playoffs we need to beat a 4k elo stack with kenzor and ayivan the day after tomorrow. I’m the igl and I’m supposed to be preparing strats but I just dont know what would work against 5 superb aimers when we dont have even 1 guy on their level (we’re all 2700-3k). Genius strategists of hltv, advice me at this difficult time, what the fuck do we do? How to beat them? If we make it to playoffs we’ll get hltv profiles which is like a real dream

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
try some unexpected tactics, or vice versa, just execute simple ones well. show that you are not just a stack whom its possible to just outshoot. i mean have solid default. then just try to entry. try to get veto that would favor you.

+1 I'd also go for some Nuke or Overpass, sth that doesn't favor a puggy play (like dd2 or mirage) but may take some time to prepare defaults

If you cant keep up aiming wise on overpass your t side will get demolished by CTs not respecting anything and just taking space everywhere and since you cant shoot back they will win their duels and you end up on 1-3 t side rounds. Also getting contacted by better aimers on B side can feel really difficult to handle as CTs

+1 If you play those maps well you don't even need aim because you will be shooting people from behind

Or just play some map where utility matters much more than aim - for example Inferno!! So narrow map that even one molotov can stop the whole entire team to advance...

We could. The tourney uses easy anticheat and it’s like no anticheat. It’s also not required to record demos. But we’re not gonna do that because we’re not 0iq :D

Try off-angles more often, due to the fact that your aim is not as good as theirs
2022-02-08 20:56
You could win with just better fundamentals. If they have weak setups and you execute onto a site with good communication, good spacing, good utility etc. etc. you should be able to trade down effectively. Thats not really something you can fix in a day though so you just have to hope they are just 5 random guys who are treating this tournament like a PUG and aren't interested in working together much more than they would on faceit.

2022-02-09 05:26
In that case it will be all about double or triple stacking flashes. They will expect the first and even the second but not the third. Use this to your advantage a few tes and then just bait them into rotations with triple flashes on the site in which you are not executing.
2022-02-09 13:22
Also i.portant to double peek from different angles at the same time. Work on synchronisation to do executes. Especially effective are dry wall outs so they are not ready. If you know there is an awper they will get one kill and then have to retreat. This is when you throw utility to isolate them in a spot and you can concentrate on taking sites. Also important at this level to leave utility as CT for late resmokes and retakes. Good luck
2022-02-09 13:25
Which map are you playing or it's not clear yet? They probably try to bully you on both CT and T site since they are the 'better players'. Expect aggression everywhere and try to counter it. So for example on mirage CT side they probably won't give you any space in middle and play 1 - 3 - 1. Fast B contact play would be good the first gunround.

We’ll probably go for dust 2. It’s the map I can call best on and I feel like it’s the only map where we can gain enough momentum to actually win. One weak spot on ct is enough for us to get 5-6 rounds in a row

Yeah with ‘good’ strats you can win Dust2 is really random and you can abuse them if youre proactive

2022-06-01 06:27
Honestly, ask your team if they're willing to do some practice since you want to win this game but they need to take it up a level. Then start to talk through rotates and defaults you want to do, util that you guys need to learn

Navi is anything but Aggressive man. The whole Navi Strat meme came from them being too passive. Gambit is also not an aggressive team. They're not passive, but not aggressive either. Spirit? The old one was, idk about the new team. Entropiq? Same as Gambit. They can be an aggressive team but by default their play is somewhere in the middle.

well you came into right place as ex semi pro i wanna say go down to basics> First of all you said you have 1 player, so let him bait sht out of you pretend you have another player like him by positioning smartly Overuse some nade usually 1 i wanna say smoke As amateurs you are amateurs id say sometimes pass on without those flashes if you are on amateur levels dont just do random stuff flash or something when you get killed because your own flash and you tilt Look how other team respect you do they or no? They likely try cheap tactics on you like bait out rotations Focus on advantage situations like 2x1 3x2, sometimes you have to grind those out to win sometimes you have to realise 4x2 doesnt mean much if they have info about you Good luck my toxic friends.

I said we dont have even 1 player. But it could be that someone game of lifes like for example I did vs the other 4k stack we lost to. We got 16-12 but I was literally the only one getting impact kills, winning clutches, opening up sites. It’s just that sometimes it’s kind of hard to organize the team around you, especially when your comms are kind of all over the place. Anyways thanks for the advice, will definitely take that into account when brainstorming on how to play tomorrow

Use smokes and utility well. Take the fights close and always use angles and jigglepeeking to your advantage. Prefire peek common angles that you can see they use out of habit. That's pretty much the game plan I would go with. Only way to greatness is to exceed yourself. Good luck in the game!

Its in 2 days so you definetely don't want to: Do dramatic changes on your strats and positions. You can try to fix some small mistakes though. Do this instead: 1. Treat it as if its just an another match you play, try to create a good atmosphere within your team before the match. 2. I guess its a good idea to so a bit of research on what maps they play and are good at and think if your team is comfortable enough to let these maps through. 3. HAVE FUN.

Even silvers can kill them if they are flashed. No need to go for a fair fight. Since you're the IGL, only you can make your team win. You see astralis era, no one had aim like s1mple/zywoo but they dominated other teams for so long, magic of glave/zonic. So its on you now. Study their gameplay and make anti-strats, like what astralis did to liquid on vertigo. Watch this for reference - youtube.com/watch?v=c25eRhYDXa8 If everything else fails, call s1mple for standin.

watch demos i guess. Work on the team-work, rotations and nade usage. I hope you are not uncoordinated like mm players. If you are not then you can certainly trade frags as a t and bring it to 1 v 1s/2s. As a CT you would have to have proactive nade usage. And finally, if you have made so far , you need to believe that there is a chance for you to beat them.

I have no experience from that level of play but as many others have said try to be annoying, i have played against some Swedish semi-pros and they always tilt from unexpected stuff like 2 guys pushing long overpass for example. Wish you the best of luck, please post the result in thread when you have played!
2022-02-08 23:11
if they win early - play defaults and slow rounds, 3-4k elo players are always extremely greedy when they are winning. easy way to cheese some rounds and maybe tilt them. On CT I would play some stupid stacks, flash pushes and stuff like that. if you are winning early - absolutely snowball the site you see a weakness in, in ex. the guy who is 0-3 because he just got run down the last round (probably a bit tilted, the more you rush him the more tilted he will get). Change this up every few rounds. On CT I would try to play very aggressive. if you think you are outclassed you need to play unfairly and just try to get them out of their flow.

I agree with most parts with you. but huge disagree on aggresive ct side. CIS cs is usually very slow, they hold default forever. i would try to hold on nades as long as you can. You sacrifice some map control, but if they do cis 0 20 executes u ultimately fuck em with smoke or molo. If they go for fast disprespectfull plays and taking map control early, i would switch up and fight for that map control with good utility flashes.

I’ve been in this position and won on LAN and online. Just play your game. Don’t worry about counter strating. Do your normal strategies. Use your utility effectively. People can’t aim when they’re blind and they can only get lucky through smokes. Just remember to play with respect and don’t be sloppy. This is the most important time you and your team need recognize what risks are worth taking and that will determine if you will win.

Kenzor and ayivan the players from hellraiser? No way you beat them with a 2.7k elo team but from this two guys you would have demos ,study them and go crazy on the site you are feeling is the most safe on the map , maybe a guy is a bot sometimes on ramp…use it and pray, maybe you are having the game of your life

You probe and pry their defense. As soon as you see who the worst player or who is having the worst game in their team i would do safe defaults and always execute on that site. So be ready with two executes for each site and at least a couple different defaults. Have your team always flash in properly before you peek if they aim much better than your team

The only way you can win is hardcore execution and just being able to analyse which rotation is weakest. If you are able to find that player out on the map, your mid-round game should just be focused on trying to get him and take the site he originally plays on. In addition, you need to do some illogical peeks and plays because they are not expecting anything. Although, your players will need to get some confidence and do some risky plays. At the end of the day remember that these guys are so used to the teamplay system that on retakes they will immediately be able to find out where you're coming from, where you're hiding and etc... RISK, EXECUTE, TRUST, AND DUMBNESS will make you win.

Pick ct sided maps and hope to win knife rounds. Then proceed to have a life game each one of you.

add me to team then is free win

In such a short timescale, there's not that much you can do. Review demos of their gameplay on the maps you're likely to play, and work out how to identify and deal with their strats. Ensure your team is also up to date, and good luck tomorrow:)
2022-02-09 14:36
if Mirage is not their best it will 100% be your best shot after D2, Mirage is so timing based you guys can win that even vs. tier 2 team if you guys have played enough together and hit your shots. this advice is coming from a noob FYI but good luck anyway man! i hope you guys pull it through. let us know the results
2022-02-09 15:11
Play Brazilian. Get aggressive on the CT side and make sure they're playing from behind early.

play the way your team plays best. make sure you are trading your kills and working together as a team and helping each other, if you try to change what you do i don’t see that being helpful as you don’t have enough time to practice a new philosophy. your best hope is that they have an off day and you all play at your best as a team.

Pick Mirage, go T-Side and just rush the shit out of them with utility. I'm talking like 10 flashbangs on A while 2 guys are smoking Jungle and Stairs. Is it the best strat? Absolutely not, but it's super annoying for the CT's and it will eventually get to their heads. If you win the mental game, you win the game.

Dont play mirage or d2 CIS players start to play those shitty maps from age of 2. Like literally its their kindergarten playground. Nuke Ancient or Overpass may be good map pick

2022-02-10 16:23
Do crazy strats, like Discoteca Fires (if its on d2). 4 ppl go mid, first they smoke of ct spawn and all around lower mid, and creeps out hiding in the smokes. And bam, go B! 1ppl go B tunnels, flashes B and smokes B doors. While also pressuring B defenders. Works 3/10 times.

Yeah, caught the end of it. They were running around with P90 and autosniper. Sadge. How many maps did you prepare? Did you have access to their demos? Did you have any info whatsoever about what they liked to play?

disrespect them they wont expect it , i mean play fast as you can the first rounds and slow it then go at it again when they stop waisting utility at the start as t and go for some presure plays aka info on ct i mean 3 on spawn go clear what they have spawn (one stays advanced) and stack the other side

I honestly don’t even know lol. I’d just say play how you guys usually play and try to exploit their weakness if they have demos, or try to learn their play style mid game.

Playing on CT: Try to play the most passive CS as you can, they are most likely going to execute when there is less than 30 seconds, and after that, even one nade or small thing can make them lose the round by time. Popflashes and gathering information is def the best shot to get an advantage as if the same player plays in the same spot for the fifth time, you can most likely expect that he does it for sixth time also. Mental resets with timeouts and playing for team, making sure that player can ATLEAST be traded or even converted into a multikill if they manage to push him. on T: Get as much map control as you can, then you can pretty much just execute with smokes, or do a fake, which makes the enemy team pretty vulnerable as it is 5v2-3. SPECIALLY eco rounds can be really tilting, and can turn the game completely, so better to make sure you don´t lose those. Even in 0-5 situation it is pretty easy to comeback because of the CT economy, and trying to find the weakest link and abusing it as much as possible works a lot. I don´t know did this help at all but good luck with the match anyways!

How did it end?
2022-06-01 05:58
Go kill
2022-06-01 05:59
Everyone goes with strategies and other playstyle, i would say: dont do any of that and go full silver pug style trading. At this level, you expect the enemy to make the right play and therefor you practice on that. Nothing pisses you off more than not checking a smoke because you think it would he a stupid play for them to push that smoke and yet, that silver retard pushes it and kill you. Be that silver, make the dumb unsuspected play. The other team watch pro plays and learn from them and they will expect you to do the same. If you see that they start being more passive as T, then fall back and play super passive for a round or two and then bam! 5 man ct push A. Tripple tower off angle, 5 man shotgun force buy on second round. Make them wonder what the hell is going on. People expect everyone to play the same spot on ct side, because they make sense. So if they hace better execution than you, you will get countered. Be creative.

If you play Vertigo try to play passive or aggresive B stairs and Ramp. Like hiding in the B site
2022-06-01 09:39
u need to play very stupid cs at the beginning, pushing through smokes etc. then after few rounds slow down a bit and play more slow, bait them by making many sound cues, then use ur best strats and play normally and ez 5-16 instead of 0-16

u need to create a wrong belief in their minds that u are just very bad(but u need to have a very good strat and you have to be able to stop the plow cuz if u fail they will get very confident and u are rip), they need to get overconfident just to be cut short after they feel good in match, u need to have a good chemistry and paatience in team to do so
