Twistzz made the best move possible for his career...Going EU
 |
United States caliprep
NA scene is so stagnant. EG looks completely lost against NAVI with a stand-in. Bentet decided not to sign with EG because of that very reason as well. No progression, no innovation. As an American...It's sad to witness and admit, but the real top tier competition is in Europe without exception.

And? My “region” barely has the population of New York and is 1/10th the size of California. We don’t need a csgo scene idiot…..

you still live in EU where CSGO is one of the most popular game here in NA people play halo, call of duty, battle royals and trash fighting games.

Completely right. The chance a country with 8.5 million inhabitants having a blooming CSGO scene, with multiple flourishing teams and a lot of talent is way higher than a whole continent with 370 million people and decades of experience in E-Sports history including a major victory. Switzerland because of it’s geographical situation

he didn't destroy him the only relevant thing is region and playerbase numbers and NA has horrible playerbase numbers 330mil doesn't matter for shit
2022-04-05 20:21
He didn't though. At least Switzerland is central to Europe. The US has 370 million people but they're split across 4 time zones, with the biggest concentrations on polar opposites of the continent. Europe has the majority of its players within 1 or 2 timezones, better internet infrastructure, and nearly double the population (while also having parts of the CIS they can compete with). Switzerland is small, and that's valid, but the rest of his statement lacks objective perspective.

NA CS was on life support, fighting for every breath, feeling every heart beat. And then Valorant walked into the hospital and beat it to death with a lead pipe and then burnt down the hospital just to be safe
2022-04-05 20:37
Covid* All Valorant did was take some upcoming talent but mainly washed or failed na players.

No it really isn’t. Covid hurt the scene more than Valorant ever did. Nice name btw

It's not just on CS though, NA teams on League are the same. I don't know if it's a cultural thing, but it feels like players don't want to put in the hours

at least NA isn't Brazil at LoL, we are like the 2nd worst region or so
2022-03-31 22:09
I mean the only thing keeping NA alive in league is the amount of imports they get per year, there is more players who aren't from NA than there is from NA in LCS. The talent system there is also lacking.
2022-03-31 21:45
there are just not enough role models

I think that was honestly the least talked about issue with Valorant coming out. Yea it took some of our younger players but it took well ingrained into the community players from us as well. People like n0thing and sgares just to name 2 of the more visible names. Look at the coaches just from ESL Pro League S 15 for these other areas: Entropiq - hooch fnatic - keita G2 - XTQZZZ FURIA - guerri FaZe - Robban Vitality - zonic MovieStar Riders - blade Godsent - chucky NAVI - blade Heroic - xizt Astralis - trace Even if they aren't all considered your "role models" that is a pretty big list of people who can share their experience/knowledge with the amount of years they have been in our community. Nothing against N/A coaches but how many really have that kind of insight that have an audience here? Adren?

yeah, players like shroud should mentor the community and get involved more. He has such an outreach. Instead he behaves like a manchild. nothing, skadoodle.. the list is endless. There are no startups, no mentorship. They should be leading in terms of technology (game analytics), mental coaching (like Astralis did before they were major winners), but there is just a vast vacuum. And that makes me believe that NA players do not play for passion or love of game, but a short-lived glory. For this reason, i appreciate what Twistzz did- he left home and decided to stay with karrigan because he knew the environment and mindset is just not there in NA teams.
2022-04-04 18:08
Yeah Adren is probably the last one still is in CS. I agree with Seangares and n0thing. Daps is still playing thought...

A lot of the old school NA talent just straight up left the realm of CS, though. fRoD, Warden and Rambo tried to mentor the community but they had little success. When you consider players like shroud, n0thing, sgares, skadoodle, only one of them actually seems like a good mentor for tier 1. shroud hasn't taken CS seriously since he joined cloud9. n0thing is a great role model for the community at large but I don't think he has a lot to offer the top tier NA teams at this point in time. Skadoodle is basically an alien, he doesn't have a mentor mentality. sgares could probably be a great coach but he's clearly not interested. I just don't think NA players enjoy being out of the server like so many other nationalities do. The problem lies there.

Might be time for some more NA players to do similar moves. Dont like it however, would be fun to have a NA team in top five.
2022-03-31 21:39
aspiring NA players should do what WolfY did and move to dane land. Being on a tier 3 EU team gives you more potential to improve than being on a tier 1 NA team does

I mean, Liquid is looking good, but EG and complexity are not gonna accomplish anything. And having Party Astronauts at EPL was a straight up embarrassing

they might want to add FaNg to liquid and or floppy.
2022-03-31 23:26
COL won't accomplish anything ***, I would add in t1 . I feel they are around the level of big. They can win t2/t3 events. There are trying to go too fast with not enough skill pools.

If they added a better awper (smooya for example), they would be a lot more competitive. I hate to talk trash on one of the best awpers in NA, but junior doesn't seem to be improving on his decision making in tier 1.

Me 2, but you have to be realistic, he is not t1 material. If it was only his aim, but his game sense, decision-making are very odd. In this meta, you need more than a capable awper. It has to be one of the starplayer. Currently, Junior is not really near of that.

Yup, similar like in asia scene. Too arrogant and lazy tbh. Think they the best etc. Don't recognize mistakes etc.
2022-03-31 22:11
Twistzz moving to Europe was the best situation for the current state of Cs with an EU bubble. Every region outside of eu will lack consistent or top results unless they move to eu until there is no more bubble. It’s just the NA mindsets. It’s not as bad as it used to be in cs but you can see it in Valorant. Players care more about their egos and reputations over winning.

2022-04-04 20:24
if liquid would have dropped stewie before twistzz left and got either wardell or osee, they would still be a top team
2022-04-04 20:26
cause you got shroud the biggest manchild on planet cursing the game which made him what he is. Instead of mentoring the scene, all the NA legends are effing off somewhere. It is clear NA stars are more passionate about quick hype and glory, than pure love and passion for the game.

I'm pretty sure the major reason he joined a european team is because his gf lives in Germany and he wanted to be close to her.

2022-04-05 20:42
yeah it was a amazing move for his career long term especially considering how bad faze were when he came to the team
