I think HS did some IGL-ing some time ago, just an assumption, also fejtz did something but now he is just shit. Supra could take the support role and lets take bymas. Maybe supra can IGL I really dont know, yeah we really dont have an IGL. But the baltic trio could really happen sooner than we might think due to the recent actions and rain is getting old and yekindar looks to leave.

ik but imagine fitting wc qualifiers + the event itself. Normally wc happen in player breaks and I don't know if the cs pros would be happy with that.

I suppose it didn't help that ClanBase NationsCup was one of the most controversial tournaments in the history of professional CS.. on top of being online only.
I think a much better example would be WCG, which was considered the unofficial world cup in CS 1.6. Though the problem with that was, that several teams of each nation was allowed to qualify.

ClanBase NationsCup was amazing. Yes, it was controversial and online only but CS tournament organization was very limited back then. It was played for country pride and you saw so many unknown players getting a chance to shine. This is how I learned about niKo and Guardian for instance - through these tournaments. Idk if something like this would be appropriate anymore with how big the circuit is but it was a really good thing for the scene overall back then, especially for less developed countries because you would never get to see these players get a shot anywhere else.

NationsCup was a complete trainwreck, from cheating accusations every season, amateur players on the biggest nations because their best players couldn't be assed, and rules against bunnyhopping, horrible servers and ping issues etc etc etc.
As far as I remember, there was also something about their admins being bad, and them not paying out owed prize money.
I fail to see how anyone could think it was amazing, maybe it was for a lack of a better alternative.

Not the NC that I remember. Was actually the one, that asked Clanbase admins to put up the tournament, since we had the team already. Was involved in the first 1-4 Nations cup in Team Finland, and can't remember single cheating accusations etc.
I just remember how swedes were divas, german players pracced 2 hours before match on their server (TAMM & mYm guys etc) and then Finnish guys came few minutes or late to the match, and tactic were 'flash own players, rush b and kill everyone' and it worked - at least against czech :)))

my guy I hate to break it to you but in terms of top tier talent that can win you a top tier tournament:
- ukraine has b1t and s1mple, that's really about it
- french CS is basically zywoo at this point, maybe apex and maybe shoxie
- top tier swedish talent has been drained more than my balls

Competitive doesnt mean they have to win trophies.
- Ukraine has s1mple, bit, w0nderful + navi junior, which could actually work in short tournament.
- French team with zywoo, misutaa, apex + some tier 2 guys from falcons or HEET could work too.
- Swedes could play with current NIP roster.
= 2 dominant countries, 2 semifinal spots for other countries.

Great idea, but I think CSGO esports has to become franchised first in order for this to happen.
I also would love to see less majors. You would have 2 league seasons every year, then 1 major every two years. Then there would be enough space for another prestigious tournament like World Cup.
Or one major before summer, one world cup before winter break. Could work too :D
seems like a good idea but csgo is not diverse enough to make it interesting.

I'm still waiting for something like TWC to come back, it was like tier 3 but it was fun to see countries playing each other. WESG is not a good example of a world cup guys! it was a shitshow also most teams didnt play under a country flag, they just shared the same nationality
2015/2016 world championships by efrag. the teams all were kind of bullshit though.

Yeah, teams would ofc have to sign off on their players playing elsewhere for a tournament, which most teams should allow, but you know there’d be a few asshole orgs
That used to be a thing but it was just T2-3 players pugging since they didn't really practice outside of their team and T1 teams that all were from the same county, astralis for example didn't bother competing in this doodoo water tournament

dont think players want this. most nation events we had so far was with tier3 players. and it would be during official season break, so majority would probably just not participate. would have to work together with valve for that and have one major less for a world cup or sm shit.

I think it would be such a good idea, we would see scenes that we're not used to see playing, like Estonia, Latvia, etc and we would have the 5 best players (or more) of each country, would be awesome

Clanbase Eurocup on 1.6 & source (and other games) back then but you are probably too young to have lived that.
At least they could let upcoming talents play like more academy sort of players, would be tricky to have all the top players from T1 teams take part in it, then it also would be less disbalanced teams and give chance to lesser known players to shine, then it would be far easier to organize as far scheduling goes.
