I did my barbell squat pr today, it was 3x6 70kg, is it good? I am skinny boy, turned 23 years old today tho :) How much you squat? (Not 1 rep maxes).

I don't do squats because i don't feel my quads working out. I'm more lower back dominant on squat so i just don't do it anymore(my goal is hipertrophy). Last year I did 130kg x 10 low bar squat.

Yeah true, I feel like sh*t if I dont train legs and the feeling when jeans dont fit like the used to.. But actually i am not really a beginner anymore I guess, been working out over 2 years :D It's just the fact that i had/have hard health conditions so I dont lift that heavy like normal people do, focus on form and quality reps. But i still push very hard, going almost to failure or to the failure in every workout.

I've been struggling with my squats lately as I had a shoulder issue that put me back quite a lot. Did 80kg x2 at some point (not maxing out, could've maybe done 1 more rep), but I need to really work on my squat tbh.

I'm weak as well, I can't even pull up properly >.<, I only seem to progress in benchpressing although it still needs work, for now doing 75x3, and I bench 15kg dumbbells so you might just go and try an actual benchpress then

I dont know, didnt really felt my chest with barbell and with high blood pressure it was hard to push it. I am doing incline barbell press actually, progressing on this every week basically, right now at 3x8 35kg

holy damn, you bench 75x3, would think you would do more on DB. I feel weak on bench, i only do 65x3 but on Db im on 27,5

The presence of a coach usually helps on such monumental exercises as benchpress! It's not that I can't lift more on the DB but it's just a regular exercise, no maxxing no nothing. Just what the coach says, of course I can do more but not sure about 27.5! All of the focus was set on the benchpress and that's why I guess! It's a matter of short time you'll be doing 75 and more

No no, I just took an easy way I guess and let the coach guide me, I'm too lazy to learn all of the gym stuff and exercise rules for myself, and it would be boring to do all that alone there. I love enthusiastic people so if I see he really cares for me, I'm glad and not mind paying! So he helps me and leads me on, no sports. But are you?

if you are not some kind of a bodybuilder then why should he go heavier like there's no point, only higher risk for injury (maybe for deadlifting, don't know how big is the chance for injury with squating).

deadlift is very safe when done correctly not doing it correctly can lead to injuries, just like every other exercise but its no different than the squat in terms of "dangerousness"

Not bad,I guess you havent been training for a whole lot of time.If you are skinny try eating more food than comfortable with a good amount of protein(and not trash food ofc),you wont grow very much otherwise. My best was 115kg X6 with a bit more than 2 years of training at 190 cm/82 kg

Not what I am saying, the title of the thread is Squat PR, but in his description you are not allowed to state your 1 rep max, basically your PR. So OP has to make up his mind whether or not he wants to know our PRs or not.

5x5 80kg like a month ago but i feel like shit while squatting, I barely feel my quads while squatting (probably because I use a wide stance, otherwise I can't get depth and my knees are in a big pain) Just tried squatting again yesterday, did 60kg 5x5 with no problem, tried to get the best depth I could and did a pause at the bottom, working towards bettering my form currently (my knees caved in a lot while doing heavier weights) but I'm pretty confident that I could get 80 5x5 and something like 90x1 (with a worse form fucking up my knees so not going for it rn) im 15 yo ~75kg

Thats nice, i am going for good depth aswell, with 60kg I could go ass to grass style you know, but with 70kg i need some time to go full and stop at the bottom. I am 175cm and 68kg btw

Why not 1 rep max? Its the only thing I track. Mine is 190kg btw. For more reps I don't know, maybe 180 for 2?
