Many times when a message is preached with a strong conviction against compromises. Most people who hear the message don’t like it. Usually when they don’t like it, it’s something they need to hear. Especially when it comes to the compromise of Christianity. When the Lord gives a preacher a message with the conviction of the Holy Spirit that deals with compromises, most people who hear it do not like it. Because most people are compromising. They do not want to endure the truth. They oppose the conviction of the Holy Spirit because they want to remain in their apathy and lukewarmness. They want to stay in their dead religion. However, the Lord wants them to be resurrected in Christ. The Lord wants them to be brought to life in true living and fruitful faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, the Lord places a message of condemnation through the Holy Spirit in the heart of a preacher who is a partner with him to condemn compromises. Jesus wants people not to be lukewarm. Jesus wants people to come out of apathy and a dead religion. Jesus wants people to get out of their comfort zones and begin to work for the kingdom of God. God uses a preacher who is not afraid to use the sword of his truth against the compromise of deception to bring conviction to those who are deceived by a dead religion. The unadulterated preaching of the word of God interferes with the complacency of the heart. Jesus wants his people to catch fire on his behalf. Jesus wants his people not to be ashamed of the gospel. Jesus wants his people to stand up for him in this evil and adulterous generation. However, we must not stiffen the beliefs of the Holy Ghost and bring resistance to what he is trying to do in our lives. As the people did when Stephen preached in the Acts of the Apostles. They were stiff and opposed the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and Stephen rebuked them. "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye." (Acts 7:51) Do not stiffen your necks and close your ears and hearts to the conviction of the Holy Ghost. Do not oppose the Lord if he tries to pull you out of apathy and it is uncomfortable. Many people oppose the Holy Spirit as he tries to get them out of complacency, and they end up withering in the vine. Let us not stiffen our necks and resist the conviction of the Holy Ghost as He tries to awaken us. The Lord wants us to be on fire for him. The Holy Spirit wants to get us out of that place of apathy and complacency. He uses the condemning messages of the Holy Spirit to deal with the heart. God wants us to grow and He wants us to win.
