Then it would be fun to watch, when the top 8-10-12 teams dont just buy free ranking like eg, mibr, col, fnatic or now astralis

Why is it so hard for people to see that just because a team pays for parter, seeds and ranking makes them good?
While teams like c9, heroic(before), entropiq, flames etc are just as good but dont have money for partner spots?

so what? If you a good team you need to be able to prove yourself even in a bo1.Saying bo1 is the reason a tier 1 lost to tier 4 is just a terrible excuse and shows that that team is unprepared and lack the ability to conform with the situation.

Seems we are going in the same direction and EPL was all BO3. Truth is the favorites fucked up and the underdogs performed, plain and simple.

Doesn't mean I like having BO1s but they aren't to blame for what happened today. They allow upsets but not to this degree. Doesn't justify how Heroic lost a 9-2 lead vs a top30 team in their supposedly best map. FaZe got stomped by ENCE on Mirage. Cloud9 couldn't beat a NiP with es3tag on the awp.

I think all games should be bo3 with this format and if you want to do bo1's then it should be a round Robin group and 8 best records advance.

yeah like the pinnacle cup or these tier 2 europe events, it would be interesting
that's way too many games to be played. Swiss format is completely fine if your team can't win then that's just your fault. Teams like liquid will lose to BNE, Spirit, etc. no matter what format is there.
And why exactly would round robin be better in that than swiss? Only thing different would be that the amount of games one has to win would be random instead of set 3 wins. And the amount of teams would have to be lower. 16 teams round robin would take minimum of 8 days, if all the games want to be streamed with two streams.

Yeah I didn't think of how long it would take. I like round Robin because it's not based on seeding and you have to play every one so it's more fair.
The current format isn't bad I just think making all games bo3 would make it so there isn't any fluke games in my opinion.

I think Valve wants to promote bo1's because normal people will always be playing bo1 games in their casula and semicasual games.
As for fluke games, there will always be fluke games. Bo1 certainly feels more flukeheavy, but I don't know if there is actual statistics to back that up. That bo3 games don't actually have as many fluke games as bo1. I don't really care either way regarding the major specifically.
Though I would like to see more bo1 games in other tournaments so we would get more statistics to actually back up the decisions. But thats my opinion of course.
CPH played well vs ENCE and got lucky first draft.
Spirit fairly beat Furia and Heroic.
Spirit definitely deserves the 3-0 if they get it, CPH maybe less so, but still ...
The four current 0-2 teams got pretty unlucky with matchups, but Imperial, BNE and Liquid are not worth getting through anyway. It's sad for Vitality, but I count 9 teams that are better, so they wouldn't have made it anyway.
FaZe, ENCE, G2 and Heroic are favourites to get to Playoffs obviously, but they can all still get through.
