I get what you're saying but they didn't even try and so many of the characters just became stupid and did shit for the sake of the plot literally 90% of the characters decisions in the last 3-4 seasons made zero sense and on top of that they cut out a lot of shit that will be important in the books.

no. People hate on s7-8 because these 2 idiots (show creators) ended the show in a most illogical way they could just because they wanted to impress the viewers. They didn't want any of the fan theories on the forums to be right. And the countless character and story archs that they forgot about or didn't even bother developing and closing. And they didn't get some of the fans mad, I'd say that most of the fans got mad. It seems that they didn't really care for the show at the end. It would be better if they just dropped it after season 6 and let someone with passion for the books finish the series as it deserved. Yeah and they weren't even forced to by anyone to speedrun the end like they did. HBO wanted 5 more seasons of the show. But these 2 morons got greedy and wanted to fuck off and work for Netflix (spoiler alert they bailed out of their contracts for netflix shortly after starting working for them)
