because it's among the highest paying jobs and you don't need to leave home or get a degree, you just need your ass sat in the chair for hours and a bit of patience to solve problems

Not interested in coding at all, but I love doing CAD. If i loved programming I would do i, and suggest other people to look into it. Tech is still the fastest growing industry and if you live in 1st world country you'll get paid insanely. Here in the US a lot of software engineers make $120k+/yr in their first job out of college

less and less though, more companies are going back to in-person. also based on my experience remote jobs still require you to live close to the area.
