Tbh Great War is one of my least listened albums altough there are great songs such as Field of Verdun. Probably have to listen it more. Carolus Rex and Coat of Arms are my favorite. The War to End All Wars was alright but nothing exciting. Also I am glad that you and your gf enjoy watching that together and I hope she digs Sabaton aswell.

Honestly the Great War is my favourite album besides Carolus Rex, feels like every song is a banger. And yes, coat of arms is a classic as well, same with primo victoria. Agree with the war to end all wars, it was really underwhelming in my opinion. It had a few decent songs but nothing special.
I will probably have to watch a few romantic movies now to compensate for seeing a 4h long war movie from the 60s.
Also, when it comes to sabaton. Like at first when I hear a song it can be a bit meh. But then if I do research to what the song actually is about it shines in a completely different light. Like take “last dying breath” as an example, where Serbs made a charge into certain death to defend Belgrade. Damn, Last dying breath... I went to the Sabaton concert in Belgrade when they released The Last Stand. It was the first time they performed Last dying breath on stage and it was amazing. They hired a local actor to read major Dragutin Gavrilović's speech.
