Map veto faze vs navi
India thegreathorn
I think Nuke, Dust2 and Inferno as the last map

If it’s this way I see 2-0 NaVi If inferno is first I get scared

Hopefully Faze win their map pick (inferno) and it goes to the 3rd, would be the hype :))

i guess navi have high seed cuz they are 3-0 team and faze 3-1, so they will ban inferno and after this faze must ban vertigo or try to surprise

if navi ban inferno faze will pick vertigo for sure

never in million years will NAVI risk floating vertigo. FaZe literally have a reletively ok vertigo which is an issue for NAVI.
2022-05-22 13:35
why would faze ban vertigo?

cuz vertigo is faze's permaban, same for navi

faze played it once and they played well navi have played it 0 times so if navi dont ban it faze will pick it
2022-05-22 09:49
faze is very comfortable to float vertigo until the end there's no reason for faze to rush ban it first
2022-05-22 09:51
it would be stupid for faze to ban vertigo faze probably going to ban dust2

yes, i saying it cuz navi(probably) will ban faze's best map first instead of classic vertigo ban

no lol look at last time they played faze was willing to let vertigo go through and banned mirage navi was the one who banned it because faze won against ence on it thats why faze has a huge advantage in veto unless navi has been secretly practicing it

tbh even if they were secretly practicing it, faze is likely to know as they share the same pracc groups. It will be a 'secret' to us viewers.

true thats why i think navi are gonna be the ones to ban vertigo again and faze will be able to ban ancient or mirage instead

faze d2 is good though, they beat spirit

nothing but luck stopped it going the other way faze might be good, but navi is better at dust2 and mirage

FaZe won’t ban Vertigo, even if Navi don’t ban it, due to FaZe being able to play Vertigo better than Navi, meaning no matter what, Navi has to ban Vertigo, unless they want to play it, which is unlikely(FaZe would punish pick it)
2022-05-22 10:46
Honestly don't feel like Overpass will be played, Navi will ban it at some point, this is if faze doesn't pick it first.
2022-05-22 10:09

different story. b1ad3 and navi won't do such a risky move when they're confident that they can win on "regular" maps

it gives faze a huge advantage tho, they can ban mirage if navi isn't willing to let vertigo go through

yeah, in my opinion it's NAVI's biggest weakness, map veto. Bcz they permaban Vertigo they can't ban the best pick for their opponent and overall in some cases they allow their opponent to dictate map veto. But NAVI will ban Vertigo still.

it's different tho. Both Astralis and Liquid were able to play the map, it was just risky to pick in the quarter final of the major instead of other maps they are comfortable on This time both faze and navi perma ban it with the exception that faze are at least able to play it if the other team is not

If Navi don't ban it, Karrigan will pick it for sure. He has done this earlier as well

Faze will pick inferno as 1st and will ban something like ancient or mirage

Idk, Faze always banned mirage and were okay with playing dust2 and Navi are one of the best mirage teams right now but anything can happen I feel like overpass wont be played at all
2022-05-22 09:48
Yea I feel like they will ban ancient first, Navi's T side looks good on ancient.

Yeah, I could see it happening but then Navi would pick dust2 or mirage but even if Faze ban d2 or mirage or ancient, I think Navi will just pick 1 of those 3 maps

I feel like if anything then NaVi will just pick Ancient rather let it go through as the 3rd map. It's too risky cause you can either get stomped hard on T or not win enough rounds as CT and then goes my first point
2022-05-22 13:17
having a feeling it might be inferno, d2, overpass. i doubt nuke would get picked as both teams are really strong on it.
2022-05-22 09:45

I doubt Overpass will be played, Navi doesn't play a lot of overpass. Navi would more likely play nuke than overpass against faze who have a lot of experience on overpass

but on the other hand faze dont play the overpass that well either. If navi prepared well enough they might be strong on it against faze

i think faze play it better than navi, they won't risk it to go on a map with zero experience in a major grand final, we have seen it with cloud9 what happens if you go blind on a map

no I mean most likely they wont risk it but all I mean is that if anything NaVi might be quite strong on overpass if they only prepare well enough. faze vs nip on overpass looked kinda lost unless faze really prepares the map which I kinda doubt. Most likely either faze or navi will just ban the map and play either ancient or nuke as 3rd

+1, I think a repeat of the heroic veto is the most likely outcome here, especially considering Navi looked beatable in that series. IMO Karrigan's best bet at the major is to avoid the more puggy maps (dust & mirage) and just try to outcall boom.

yeah, that might be the case. If navi somehow gets to play both mirage and d2 it's gonna be basically easy win (unless faze's individuals pop off today which might happen anyway) the best shot for karrigan is like u said, pick the maps he can outcall boom or make something navi will never predict and pick idk, overpass
2022-05-22 13:21
+1 i think so too

navi will pick d2 over mirage
2022-05-22 10:18
Yea I like this one looks very close to happening, close call between Dust2/Mirage. I believe Faze has shown a lot of weakness on Dust vs Spirit.
2022-05-22 10:13
how do I know who's banning first or picking or what
2022-05-22 11:31

Faze are lower seed because they went 3-1 and their buchholz is lower also, so favourites will chose if they want to pick or ban first so they will let Faze ban first so if it goes to the 3rd map Navi will start on the ct side
2022-05-22 12:03

that might actually be good for faze, because navi might ban vertigo as their first ban, while faze could ban d2/mirage.
2022-05-22 12:07

Faze will ban first and they won't ban vertigo like they always do when it's against Navi, they will ban d2/mirage/ancient and Navi will pick one of the three imo
2022-05-22 12:10

well yeah that's why it's a decent thing for faze, because the first to ban vertigo kinda 'loses' a good map to ban.

Yeah I actually remember Faze playing vertigo against Navi but it was just charity tournament so they just played it for fun when Niko was in Faze back then, so I am pretty sure Faze wont ban it, they even played it against Ence, Faze will just ban something else Hopefully Faze show up and take inferno so it can go at least on the 3rd map :))
2022-05-22 12:12

yeah I agree, if it ends up on vertigo it's a dangerous pick for both but I personally think karrigan's mid round calling is better so they have somewhat of an advantage, and they also played it recently against ence, but yeah it could go either way, it probably won't be picked.
2022-05-22 12:13

Yes, I believe Navi will just ban vertigo and Navi are good on every map, only their inferno is somewhat average and maybe overpass and I also believe overpass won't be played at all
2022-05-22 12:15

agreed, I think it's gonna be inferno, d2/mirage depends on what faze bans and then nuke.
2022-05-22 12:17

Yes, exactly what I also think :D I also think that Navi might pick ancient but I am not sure about it, if they want to play
2022-05-22 12:18
what I find interesting is that both perma ban vertigo, so the first to ban it is at somewhat of a disadvantage as they remove a map that both teams don't want to play probably. I think faze has a bigger chance of picking vertigo against navi as karrigan is a better mid round caller, but it's a huge risk for both and I don't think it would happen. I can see faze not banning vertigo first as they can be pretty safe to assume navi won't pick it, so faze can ban d2/mirage, I personally think they will ban d2. navi will ban vertigo in my opinion to go safe, and faze will pick inferno. navi will pick mirage/ancient, I assume mirage. then probably nuke/ancient left over. if navi will ban inferno and faze won't ban vertigo, I think it might end up with mirage, nuke, overpass. tho I assume it will be just a casual veto and won't be something crazy like that.

NaVi will remove vertigo whitout a doubt. FaZe picks inferno, NaVi should pick either mirage or d2 regarding whats left by FaZe, then its between nuke and ancient?

1. Navi ban Vertigo - it is a perma ban for both teams but after looking in their match history Navi always ban vertigo against faze and do not start any mind games 2. Faze ban ancient -faze have a luxury to ban any map they want cuz vertigo has already been banned. they will obviously go for strong maps for navi and atm their strongest are ancient mirage and dust. personally i think it will be ancient but it could be any of these 3 3. Navi pick d2/ancient -not really much to say. imo their first choice is ancient but if faze ban it they will go for dust. 4. Faze pick Inferno -inferno has been very solid map for months while navi are shaky on it. imo they inferno against heroic was just bad, they got outplayed really hard by cadian. 5.Navi ban overpass -their the worst map out of all whats left. they are solid on it but nuke/dust/mirage are more comfortable maps for them 6.Faze ban mirage -their results are decent but honestly this map is a coin flip for faze. since ropz joined their ct has been really bad, especially b hold as twistzz looks super uncomfortable on short at moments. 7. nuke decider
