yeah the only guy i ever knew from here that played was a russian transfer student in my year lol. he brought in his laptop so he could play csgo during breaktime between lessons.

Having a small scene is not = to not being popular.
They have a better mentality + more money to invest in players + Their country actually "cares" about gamers. Those things let them have a better scene.
But we're talking about being popular, and it's probably the 2nd most played game behind fifa here

to put the whole story short, girls kept rejecting him, one of them hit him really hard that he started drinking underage and left our ds and wasnt answering texts, then we find out he's been talking to lots of people in the val community regardless of age, then we got signs that he was being interested with like 17 year olds, age gaps kinda kept getting farther and then he was called out on twitter after he begged a legal age girl to suck pp and then other people exposed him like 2 days after he wrote a public apology confessing everything that happened.

Still very popular, every kid back to 2000-2012 played CS 1.6 or other shitty copies of CS. LoL surpassed CS in terms of players because it's more accessible and Riot do a really good job with the eSports scene right here, Valorant will also surpass CS:GO in the number of players if nothing change.

The organisation of events is a different topic. We had DH Open Tours, DH Masters Marseille and EPL 9 Montpellier in the past. Its mostly due to low attendances because of the lack of popularity once again and the fact that it is expensive to host in France. Rentability is inexistant.
Also its indeed because of terrorism, Vitality had on their main jersey the french telecom Orange as a sponsor but didnt appear on the jerseys worn by the csgo players.

guess it depends on the friend group but most people i know except for a couple guys either don't play any video games at all (based) or only play normie games like fifa, fortnite etc.
obviously there's a decent sized german community and most people know what it is, but your average teenager/young adult doesn't really care about CS, at least not that i've seen

People now prefer other types of games, although there are many people now who play cs, I think many people play games f2p like roblox, fornite, dota2, valorant

No. People may know about it but if they have to play an fps they play cod, or maybe in recent times Fortnite and valarante. I'd say btw that the most popular multiplayer games here are AOE, rocket and fifa. Smash too maybe. Some years ago it was easier to find Italian communities, there were good dm and even JB servers, there was a shitty esl tier c tournament which still was something (bymas used to play for an Italian squad) but now the guys who still play just do ir alone or with their friends I'd say.
