Nobody in the history of CS ever was able to be a carry (main awp even) this late in his career. He said before that he wanted to retire after FaZe, I don't believe continuing playing was something he wanted to do but maybe he felt financially it is the best option. He is basically retired from top CS and will never be top10 ever again

We dont know man, he has great team now and he said that he is back in his best form, so maybe he is going to comeback like Oskar, maybe worse, maybe better. Everything i know is that he is going to play once again and that is great, he is one of the greatest awpers of all time, so... only time can show if he is back or nah.

NIP with device would be a serious title contender now that brollan is there aswell, but now it just feels unlikely that he would ever return to NIP starting lineup. Its been too long and I think NIP are done with him.

What nexa achieved in G2 with NiKo was 15 tournaments, 0 wins, 2 finals. How is that good exactly..? Aleksib 2 tournaments, 1 final. And that was a lot closer match than either of the previous finals.
Do you think g2 can benefit from getting Alex and removing aleksib?

IEM Summer 2021, Flashpoint 2 and IEM ny 2020 finals appearances were pretty relevant. Actually pretty close to as good achievements as Nexa with G2. Considering G2 actually were in 2 of those and fell behind OG lmao.
Arguably pretty much the best you could get from such a shit lineup..

Okay let's take a closer look:
IEM Summer they got 2. at a event with ok teams, not the best and ok prizepool. Doesn't sound so bad, yet they bet a Vitality which wasn't very strong at that time with ZyWoo being completely absent in the match (1.03). So they either completely counterstratted him or he simply had an off-day, both possible, gotta watch demo to know for sure
Apart from that they won against EG, VP and NiP, hmm yeah none of them were good at that time imo.
Flashpoint 2:
They lost to VP who were still pretty good at that point, probably Top 8 so no shame.
Won against fnatic with JW, mibr, BIG, Dignitas and C9. I don't think any of them were top teams. Won and lost to GenG
IEM NY2020: Now we're going far back. I think it's a decent accomplishment but I really don't remember anything closer from back then.
It's a big disrespect to compare these Tier 1.5 events and wins against mid opponents to "nexas achievements" with G2.
2. at the most important major/event in 2 years in the finals against the at that time probably most dominant team we've ever seen, partly due to Niko not controlling his emotions.
2. at Cologne with every single Top Team attending, again against NaVi and also on LAN
3. at Blast Spring Finals loosing to NaVi
3. at IEM Spring loosing against the best online team
Also beat OG at Blast Premier Spring Series to win the event lol
2. at Katowice, again with all the best teams attending despite their team being not great
No doubt that nexa isn't the best IGL, he's not even close but he definitely is more accomplished than AleksiB so I don't understand ur bashing in that regard. If nexa wasn't swapped for Aleksi you'd probably never say anything about him, so why start now?
And yeah of course OG is not a good lineup, also their talents were never able to reach their peak consistently tbh and Covid hit them harder than national teams.
Still nexa was the 100% better fit for G2 in many aspects and imo is also a better IGL

So where was the talent after they dropped aleksi? Ence literally won the big teams by outplaying them tactically. They lacked a lot of firepower in comparison. Falmes actually have a ton of firepower.
Yeah G2 is already performing better than Ence did. 1 final out of 2 tournaments. Not far from winning it. Ence in the beginning wasnt good and it took some time to get rolling.

to my knowledge it's team who agreed that karrigan's calling is not going to cut it.
Fact that Niko took over IGL role made people believe that it was Niko who kicked him while in fact Niko took it over cause no one else would.
to be fair, karrigan was not great at that time and I can see many other teams agreeing to do the same thing. Karrigan bounced back from it, he used that as a wake up call and worked hard to get where he is now.

Yes but also remember that karrigan is an igl; a role which improves with experience and doesn't require as much skill when it comes to rifling like that of a great rifle player, who most often deteriorate with age. Niko's already 25. I know rain's 27 and did it but still, I've seen many good riflers get worse with age. He has to get it before 28 or its gg UNLESS Niko igl....lmao.

Unfortunately. NiKo's IGL'ing is never going to be like Karrigan's IGL'ing, even if he did improve at it towards the latter half of his tenure in FaZe Clan.
As a rifler, I honestly think that gives NiKo more of a chance, because it means he can adapt to different roles more and work on his aim, as opposed to worrying about leading another team to victory, he can sit back, work on NiKo and let another player do that for him.
As it stands, rumours are NiKo is difficult to work with and these were rumours that stemmed way back to the FaZe Clan days where he was IGL'ing, so I think it's confidence issues and teamwork issues, as we all know he has the skill to be one of the best players on the planet.

The problem with G2 is something else.
First, Vertigo is not their map, its M0nessy map. Vertigo is his territory and he shines on this map. It could be becuase of 2 vert strong reasons. 1) G2 as org does not want to look like stupid if M0nessy does not shine. So, pick a map where he shines. Easy choice, Vertigo. Thats the map he was playing in NaVi Jr. 2) They want him to have confidence built up. He shines on Vertigo, so they play. But Niko socks on Vertigo. He is not comfortable with this map. He plays like he is jailed. Every successful team like NaVi and Faze, they have this trifecta which lets them shine. G2 is far from that.
Second, you don't know in which map they will destroy their opponents. There is no map like Inferno for Faze or what Nuke was to NaVi or Ancient is or Overpass was for Gambit. Every successful team have a map which they own. G2 lacks that map.
Third, M0nessy is too young to carry a lot of responsibility. If you want proof, that Mirage smoke bug he used, he used it deliberately. It was not like it happened just like that, it was supposed to happen. In the anxiety to do something or fear of dumped out of Major, he took a step which kind of shown that he still needs time to trust himself.
Fourth, they think shuffling things will instantaneously bring success. I think this was fuelled also because of they beating NaVi in IEM Kato and reaching the finals. NaVi were mentally shattered and down to the ground and after beating that NaVi and making it to finals they thought they found the winning recipe but it was nothing but a fluke.
They have good names on the paper. They need to find first the best map where they play like champions probably overpass. It is best for Niko's lurks and expansive enough for M0nessy's awp and then they can actually build confidence and win trophies.

rain and guardian started to drop off after mid 2018 and onwards and olofm left the lineup and forced faze to play with standins

So why did NiKo get Karrigan kicked? If NiKo had trusted in Karrigans leadership, like current FaZe lineup does, NiKo would have won atleast one Major now. Probably even more. NiKo with FaZe money and desire to create superstar teams, with Karrigan leadership, would be a consistent top3 team since Boston.

Imagine you are niko.
You are in a team with Karrigan, Guardian, Olof and Rain, 4 high level legends of the game, but thats no enough you cant see how this is a opportunity for success so you decide to kick Karrigan and not replace him with an IGL of anything close to his standard, you then decide to IGL ruin Rain, Guardian ends up washed, Olof has the worst years of his career under you and you get Cold and he goes from a very good player to a bot under you so you ruined multiple players.
Meanwhile Karrigan makes mousesports into a world class winning team.
You leave Faze and join G2, Karrigan joins Faze, G2 wins nothing Karrigan slowly improves Faze and now Faze are the best team in the world have won a major and IEM Kato 2022 and you have won nothing.

I think there are future 2-4 months where we will be able to conclude does the current G2 roster have opportunity to win a big trophy. They have been playing for 3 months together. New roster, new igl, language barrier for m0nesy, etc. From this point it seems they found their game and further progress depends on adapting and strategy. So, it is too early to guess about NiKo's chances.
Hopefully NiKo gets one before 2025
