Wtf it was major? U talk about unique but there is nothing unique about katowice? Same esl style colors broadcast stage everything that we see every other month

Katowice has an emotional meaning more than trophy weight.

they just gave the dota major to them again, they have dirt on gaben or something.

PGL doesn't do good majors. Thank god for the storyline in this one, still felt great to see the players on Faze win. But yeah, PGL itself doesn't put on a good show
2022-05-22 23:03
wait a moment wtf wasnt this a pinnacle event?
2022-05-22 23:03
karrigan teared up at that time because that was their first ever S tier win, after that they won EPL and became confident, were no. 1 for quite a long time, they were basically already champions in their minds so it wasnt as emotional as katowice where he had to call for 3 different rosters
2022-05-22 23:08
So PGL should tell karrigan to cry 💀 dumb ass
2022-05-22 23:08
now it`s time for karrigan to win cologne and he completed csgo
2022-05-22 23:12
I felt that this is a major only at the finals lol
2022-05-22 23:12
am i the only one who thinks the PGL production was good ? especially in the playoffs
2022-05-22 23:13
If it works like in real life where Valve would take offers and the lowest price would determine which TO win it's no weird that PGL wins everytime as they undercut the other TOs by large and that's why we get this kind of production quality.
2022-05-22 23:14
katowice was the first big trophy for faze after a while and they were not the favorites with a stand-in so obviously it will always supersede any other tournament win
2022-05-23 12:21
6 months ago we weren't winning shit and now you are dissapointed of this major 😪
2022-05-23 12:22
Katowice was a harder road for FaZe, with multiple players getting covid and having to play with stand-ins, plus they were not favoured to win the event and they did it, it was a fairytale run. Where as the major was kinda expected with their recent form, Kato and Cologne will always feel better in terms of the stage experience. But this major was great, asides from some production failures and crowd was great and the games delivered
2022-05-23 12:23
Karrigan shed a tear at this major too, did you even watch?

PGL knows how to create hype though. I agree there weren't many unique elements to this major, but tech issues aside they did do a great job at using UI, marketing and stage elements for example that have been proven to work in CS.
And the result is, again, the second most viewed major of all time. It's hard to tell overall stats since ESC doesn't track chinese numbers like it used to. Either way, PGL's last two majors are more succesful than any other by far. More fans is equal to more hype and that is far more valuable than anything else.
Of course, I wouldn't want 5 majors in a row without innovation, but I think PGL has cemented itself as one of, if not the most competent major host by continuously drawing big attention to its majors. That is ultimately the goal of a major; bringing as many fans as possible into CSGO, whether returning or new.
