IEM Beijing major

Singapore kmslol
There have been 17 Counter-Strike majors and not a single one has been hosted in Asia. I think it's time that China gets the major it deserves.

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
If it's gonna happen, players still have to quarantine for 14days and I am not sure if there will be audience......

True but few foreigners travel to china (I am generalising) , let's be honest. If you ask someone that is not chines/half chinese or has business partners in china they would rather travel to japan or korea. Nonetheless, I do like modern chinese cities and some other rural places that are breathtaking, though I'd rather travel to japan.
2022-05-23 16:44
30 cities can hold this kind of event in china, but it is not gonna heppen these this year for virus scene. maybe next year? It will be good to watch it by myself.

Why doesn't xi just say they have some new medicine that helps against the rona so they can open up again? It's not necessary to imprison cities any more. I understand it at first because it was new and early variants were dangerous, but omicron is not a big deal.. xi will never admit that, so maybe he can just lie and say they invented a medicine

hmm it is just about policy, i can only follow that, Nobody knows how it is gonna be exactly like if it spreads here right. And the second reason is more like a political task, I resume there is also the reason in it. Maybe beijing wants to show the world we are the right one, so we will keep doing like this until virus disappears

Its more than a economic system they are also an extreme surveillance state, they are known for making people who speak against them just disappear, its not a country that deserves anything, infact the less interaction with it the better. And yes as communism is responsible for the deaths of more people that any global conflicts in the 200 years combined.

I know western people is good at making up this kind of story lol. Xinjiang is the richest place in middle asia, and the population of xinjiang has increased almost to 12 million in 2021, there was only 3.6 million Uyghur people when PRC built, and the number was about 8 million in 2000. That is what people called genocide in west lol. Western people like you is like a baby who lives in a warm room, well maybe The Truman Show. If you just take one step on land of xinjiang, you will realise you have been fooled by your goberment for a long long time, you just don't want to admit it lol. And you can check the population and economic stats between inner mongolia and mongolia, Tibet and Nepal or India. Stats don't lie man.

how do you know the isolated uyghur is not convicted? Why do you act innocent, they are locked up just because they want secession and they try to achieve the goal via terrorist activities.

Because they have made no mention of it whatsoever and have published nothing to evidence it at all now when the world is looking at you going "nice violation of human rights" if you have anything to prove otherwise you would publish it and they dont. Given the fact they are almost exclusively uyghurs, a very small minority its pretty safe to say they are targeted.

it gonna be good to see a major in mersedes benz arena in shanghai,cs really popular in china so i bet they can fill it on 100%,but brazil deserve major a lot more
2022-05-23 07:03
China absolutely can hold it well, as long as our government willing to and players will have good experience I can tell that for sure. The problem is our law against COVID19 rn is strict, in 2020 China held LoL S10, but this year China hold nothing

i think valve wants to (logically) host the majors in regions with actual competitive scenes and cheering fans that is like suggesting the NFL host the super bowl in finland or something.

but its in europe and surrounded by countries with top tier teams and traveling fans. im pretty sure belgium is closer to every single european country than china is to australia (the closest country with a "competitive" scene) china can barely qualify for the major, they even struggle at events hosted in china. this is the loudest an event in china has been (hltv.org/matches/2325163/tyloo-vs-nrg-ie..) , and it is still comparatively quiet. if valve are going to host a major in an essentially no competitive scene country with absolutely no other competitive scenes in neighboring countries, the stage will be an actual library. and then there is politics

Australia??? U been livin in the stone age or some? Tyloo is shit nowadays and even that no Australian team managed to make it to the major
2022-05-23 16:44
Btw china got a lot of fans, how "loud" a Chinese team get doesn't necessarily mean the fans are quiet

- There's no tier 1 or 2 teams from Asia, all players would have to travel far and play under jetlag - View scheduling would be nightmare for most of the fans - Covid restrictions would make organising the event a nightmare + They can build new amazing stadium for 500k participants just for the event because its cheap when you don't pay for land, or materials, or for work.

Korea seoul major...? Probably never gonna happen but it would be a dream ;)
2022-05-23 11:37
China does have a huge fanbase and it'd be nice to see Valve and TOs in general involve them more. Back in 2018-2019 we started seeing some catering towards the chinese audience, and I honestly loved it. It was great seeing the occasional upsets from TyLoo and a few other chinese teams. More competition from the asian region would be incredibly healthy for the game. I'm not sure if a major will happen, but more T1 tournaments in china would be amazing. There's plenty of fans there to fill any arena.

Rather avoid that trash and do it somewhere in Mongolia or South Korea, either cheap or expensive but with good logistics and availability, just not in that "omicron ridden" winnie pooh state, like you read some chinese comments, they are protecting themselves from super dangerous omicron variant, a variant that is everywhere but no one is locking anyone up like those ccp yutes:D

AAHAHAHHA "t's time that China gets the major it deserves." WHAT, they had 0 tier 2 teams(and ofc 0 tier 1 teams). why they deserve it?
2022-05-23 12:20
hell fucking no.
2022-05-23 12:28
I always thought a major in Sydney or Melbourne would be mad, but I doubt my country has the audience to even decently fill an arena.
2022-05-23 12:32
Cs is dead in asia no fans will watch
2022-05-23 14:25
i disagree, csgo is dead in asia, the teams are trash as well
2022-05-23 14:26
csgo pretty dead in asia outside ofskin collecting. id rather have another north american major after the brazillian one
2022-05-23 14:49
