There have been 17 Counter-Strike majors and not a single one has been hosted in Asia. I think it's time that China gets the major it deserves.

Quarantine is not a big deal, a lot of tournaments in Asian countries require quarantine, but the problem is audience.

True but few foreigners travel to china (I am generalising) , let's be honest. If you ask someone that is not chines/half chinese or has business partners in china they would rather travel to japan or korea.
Nonetheless, I do like modern chinese cities and some other rural places that are breathtaking, though I'd rather travel to japan.

Why doesn't xi just say they have some new medicine that helps against the rona so they can open up again? It's not necessary to imprison cities any more. Belgium has no good teams and it was a good major so no.
Boston was amazing and there are no top US CS teams right now so they cant host it even though they have proven to be good hosts.

china can barely qualify for the major, they even struggle at events hosted in china. this is the loudest an event in china has been (hltv.org/matches/2325163/tyloo-vs-nrg-ie..) , and it is still comparatively quiet. if valve are going to host a major in an essentially no competitive scene country with absolutely no other competitive scenes in neighboring countries, the stage will be an actual library.

- View scheduling would be nightmare for most of the fans
- Covid restrictions would make organising the event a nightmare
+ They can build new amazing stadium for 500k participants just for the event because its cheap when you don't pay for land, or materials, or for work.
China does have a huge fanbase and it'd be nice to see Valve and TOs in general involve them more.
Back in 2018-2019 we started seeing some catering towards the chinese audience, and I honestly loved it. It was great seeing the occasional upsets from TyLoo and a few other chinese teams. More competition from the asian region would be incredibly healthy for the game.
I'm not sure if a major will happen, but more T1 tournaments in china would be amazing. There's plenty of fans there to fill any arena.
