Faze hot take
 |
United Kingdom PlasticMemory
Karrigan won his major, and if I were him, I would probably retire soon. His performance made me respect him, because for once he wasn't carriedtrash but put his heart and soul into winning the games, especially that inferno. -rain has to happen at some point. Sure he had a good major, but same as karrigan, that performance will not last forever. tldr - changes will gradually have to happen and two legends will have to go (when there are good free agents). But for the time being, let faze keep being the nr1 team and win more events.

navi should kick s0mple and botality should kick zywho sure they are good players but that performance will not last forever

Your argument is that they're good now but their performance won't last forever, which is a dumb ass take. Like, no shit?

according to hltv gigabrains, that is a hot take. Right now everyone is sucking in faze's farts without asking, but when karrigan/rain go 0.6kd, the forum will be filled with -rain threads. I'm saying it before everyone else

And that's exactly #3 is saying. Before the forum fills -S1mple or -Zywoo. They should kick them. You are living in 2024, He is living in 2077.

except s0mple and zywho haven't been struggling hard and being on the verge of getting kicked untilt that one star performance. That and rain/karrigan are getting on in years. If that's what living in 2077 is like, I'd rather live in 2024 and die before then.

Your take comes at a bad time. Also, it's so generic. That it's going to be true one day just like the other person's take. Your take is not incorrect but as I said it's bad timing. Karrigan and Rain aren't going anywhere as long as they don't go out of next major in RMR stage or Challenger stage. Anything from Champions stage and above. It would come to individual performance

rain doesn't need to be godlike in this team though, if he has to be anyone but the 4th best player there's something wrong with the team.

I was cheering for faze this major, navi haven't looked their usual selves and faze needed this win after boston. But remember this thread before making a -karrigan/-rain thread when they don't play like ultimate gods next event.

If Karrigan will be only half as good its gonna be enough, if rain is gonna be half as good its gonna be enough. You need to realize these players are not in the team for stats but for good calling and taking space. Shooting heads are for youngsters. Rain being beast is just big bonus.

Of course, a fan of the master baiter chocker can't understand the beauty of a pure entry fragger like Rain or a mastermind like Karrigan.

2022-05-23 11:04
he still has it to win Grand Slam and maybe another major after that - ofc he'll prolly think about it but it's up to Faze management to decide and I don't think they can get an IGL as good as Finn at least in terms of int'l rosters (snappi old too)

I mean yeah that has to eventually happen, but FaZe are playing sick CS rn so there really is no reason to do that now. I'm pretty sure even karrigan talked about the fact that him and rain will probably not stay on the roster for too many years from now considering their age and what they have already achieved. I'm sure once things start to gradually go down and they know they can't contend for titles anymore, changes will happen. The core of Twistzz, broky and ropz is a great starting point, just need to find a capable IGL and a solid support player and you are good to go again.

/thread those were my thoughts 100%, but people seem to think that one great major = nr1 for all time. They don't have to make those changes today, but I'd give the team another major before the roster would have to shake.

Definitely and yeah it does seem like quite many people seemed to miss your point. :D I think FaZe might be capable at winning another major and/or an Intel Grand Slam, but we'll see. They have a good thing going rn and there really is nobody stopping them from achieving even more. Now it's more about maintaining this form rather than reaching new peaks (which usually seems to be the harder task).

Dude, rain is only 27 years old. Unless you can prove to me that somehow rain will have aim worse than alesksib in a few years. Especially when #1 and #3 teams have a player with 30+ age. Fer, Fallen, Fnx almost qualifying for playoffs. Coldzera and rain are the same age but one won the major and one didn't even qualify for the major. Age is a factor but isnt as big as you are making it seem to be
2022-05-23 13:39
Why thinking about retire when you just won the 3 biggest trophies in the first half of the year. There is still grand slam and an era to create. Just enjoy that a few legends like them are still playing

Nah, I don't think navi played to their fullest understandably. And they probably won't play like they did at their peak with this roster either because of the rumored changes and the war and shit. I don't mind them being a top5 team; it's always nice to see competition at the top.

I think Karrigan said prior to this major that they are actually aiming for the major in autumn. So I guess rain and Karrigan will definitely stay until then. I don't think there is any reason for any of them to not wait out the end of their current contract as well.

-1 Age is just a number. All you need is the hard work and effort put it ( which granted gets harder as you age) and he will still be one of the best. He's the oldest player to win a major and whos to say he can't keep breaking similar records? With the right mentality and support he definatley has more years in him

I am a NaVi fan but retiring now would be idiotic especially when you have such a good team around you. Also, this implies that FaZe can replace him and expect immediate success with whomever they replace karrigan with, thats never a gurantee. We have no idea whats the team chemistry like within the team and all that. If I was karrigan I'd be motivated to win more and really go on to dominate the scene for a while.
2022-05-23 12:32
Mens speak the truth but honestly who cares its their life. They do whatever they want. No one in godamn eSports or sports quit just because they got aged or whatever reason and unable to put godlike performances in the next big events. They are earning well and they will continue to do so and more importantly they are passionate. If u are speaking facts, then why did brazilian last dance didn't loose the hope and kept playing and eliminated good teams like c9 with 4 months of prac.

Big boombl4 Is in my book a terrible ingame leader and a even worse fragger than karrigan, Only reason his calls worked during their great period, was because they had 3 players capable of just taking his plan by the throat and say "sure thing" boombl4: go b absolutely no plan just let bit and simple do something about it, and he has no fragging power unless he is playing close to smokes with a smg
